Helping You Find the Prime in Primetime
Tuesday night’s TV shows worth a look. What is your favorite TV show on this night?
Prime Picks
NCIS (CBS): The team tracks down two desperate housewives that have husbands serving in Iraq who mysteriously disappear after starting their own Internet sex site. More Tony-isms than you can shake-a-stick at in this episode I’m sure.
Commander in Chief (ABC): The Templeton character on this show played by Donald Sutherland is just so incredibly devious. How will he try to sabotage the new President this week? Tonight’s episode runs a minute into the third hour of primetime. I hate when the networks do this. ABC and NBC tend to be the worst offenders with this type of program scheduling stunt.
Boston Legal (ABC): Starts a minute into the hour. Tonight Denise Bauer anxiously tries to prepare her defense in opposition to a carmaker whose faulty truck started a fire that ended up killing a woman who was terminally ill.
Solid Selections
Gilmore Girls (WB): It is Rory’s 21st birthday but will she get to celebrate this big night with her mother?
Supernatural (WB): The Hook Man goes on a spree in a small college town and Sam and Dean are the only ones who can stop him.
Close to Home (CBS): A woman who thinks she was directed by God to kill her husband is tried for murder.
Other Options
It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (ABC): It’s that time again. The time for Holiday shows that is. Tonight once again be there with Linus as he waits at the pumpkin patch for…well tune in and find out if you don’t know.
According to Jim (ABC): Repeat episode.
The Amazing Race: Family Edition (CBS): Tonight the teams leave New Orleans for Panama.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (NBC): Repeat episode where a wealthy couple that has been laundering money for drug dealers are found murdered.
Cable Choices
Emeril Live (Food Network): Get some quick and easy recipe ideas.
Restaurant Makeover (Food Network): A woman gets some help with her diner.
Recipe for Success (Food Network): A lawyer gives up practicing law and open a bakery and starts selling cakes.
Las Vegas (TNT): Repeat of not last night’s but last week’s episode. Ed gets his identity stolen and Mike gets Ed’s car stolen.
Note
Game 3 of The Word Series is tonight on Fox. Will Houston be able to get back on track playing in their home stadium? I sure hope so. I would like to see the series go into the weekend so there would be something worth watching on Saturday night.
Get some ideas as to what to watch on television tonight. What TV shows will you be watching? Are you glad that Prison Break is back on? Are you glad that baseball is almost over and all of your favorite Fox TV shows will be back on soon?
Prime Picks
Surface (NBC): This is turning into one of my favorite shows. Tonight we see Cirko figure out where the creatures have come from after studying sea orchids and when Laura gets back to her place, she finds government agents have searched her house.
Prison Break (Fox): The Break is back on. Tonight Michael finds that an old shed that had been used for storages is now a break room for the guards. Since it is an important part of his escape plan he is not sure what to do next.
CSI: Miami (CBS): It looks bad for Horatio tonight after a woman he has been seeing is found dead and Horatio was the last one to see her alive. Well except for the real killer of course.
Solid Selections
The King of Queens (CBS): The adverts for tonight’s show make a huge promise of being the funniest episode ever. We shall see.
How I Met Your Mother (CBS): Tonight we follow Ted as he makes his way to the yearly Halloween party on the rooftop as he searches for a girl he had met years earlier. Will we get to hear Barney say something about Halloween suiting up?
Las Vegas (NBC): Danny finally finds the woman in the photos with his dad and offers to pay for her medical expenses against Mike and Mary’s warnings.
Medium (NBC): Tonight Allison has a dream involving her coworkers and their death at the office.
Other Options
Prison Break (Fox): Get caught up with a repeat of the last episode shown before being interrupted by baseball for a few weeks.
Two and a Half Men (CBS): It is Halloween high jinx tonight as a woman Charlie is dating decides to put a curse on him.
Out of Practice (CBS): Ben confronts his mother over her fear of dating since her divorce.
No good Other Options tonight. Watch the early late news and then get some sleep if nothing above looks good to you and you just got to watch something in the third hour of primetime.
Cable Choices
Emeril Live (Food Network): Tonight Emeril gets saucy.
Unwrapped (Food Network): Get the inside scoop on some of your favorite cheap eats.
Unwrapped (Food Network): In this repeat get behind the counter of some of your favorite restaurant chains.
Anthony Bourdain (Travel Channel): Anthony tours and tastes the cuisine of Uzbekistan.
Notes
No Baseball tonight, The World Series is back tomorrow night on Fox with the White Sox leading the series 2 games to none. Maybe the Astros will have better luck back in Houston.
Monday Night Football tonight is the Jets at Falcons on ABC.
After the wasteland that is Saturday night TV it is nice to have some actual good choices of TV shows to watch tonight. What will you be watching tonight? Baseball? Sherlock Holmes? The ABC Sunday night lineup?

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): Tonight’s episode begins a minute into the third hour of primetime where we see Meredith and Dr. Shepherd using more than just conventional medicine to treat a young woman who’s traditional and religious father won’t let them take her in for a life-saving operation.
Solid Selections
Cold Case (CBS): A 1950s mental hospital patient who disappeared after she was committed is investigated after an old woman that died naturally was found to be using her identity.
Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC): Goren and Eames are back on a case tonight where they believe a young man was seeking justice for a hate crime victim after nun is murdered.
Crossing Jordan (NBC): Jordan investigates the death of a woman as a favor for a reporter.
Other Options
Charmed (WB): Billy is caught using her powers by Agent Murphy.
Masterpiece Theater (PBS): In Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Silk Stocking the great detective comes out of retirement to investigate high society deaths. Rupert Everett plays Sherlock Holmes in this two-hour movie.
Cable Choices
Emeril Live (Food Network): In tonight’s episode get a look at Emeril’s family favorites like roasted salmon with lentils.
Iron Chef America (Food Network): Chef Aaron Sanchez takes on Iron Chef Morimoto.
Nip/Tuck (FX): Repeat of the Granville Trap episode from earlier in the week.
Note
