Can you feel the excitement of playoff football? Well probably not if you are in Indianapolis, Chicago, Boston or Washington D.C. this week. Everywhere else and especially here in the TVaholic’s hometown of Seattle it is about to reach a fever pitch. The local sport radio station, KJR AM 950, has already been on the air for about four hours with their celebration for the Seahawks 12th-man with a 12-hour pre-game show that runs from 12:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. today. The rest of the TV landscape has all new episodes on ABC and NBC and repeats on CBS. Fox will be playing the Seahawks game tonight, which will preempt regular programming. What will you be watching?
The West Wing (NBC): A nuclear reactor in California is in trouble. The White House must deal with the problems surrounding it.
Desperate Housewives (ABC): There is a girl fight in a church, Bree finds that she has something in common with Betty and Susan needs to have surgery but isn’t sure about letting Dr. Ron perform it. Runs an incredibly lame 61 minutes.
Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): George has to deal with an elderly patient who doesn’t want to leave the hospital even though they are no longer sick. Meredith and Christina seem to be lying to each other about their respective relationships.
Cold Case (CBS): Repeat where an overweight student dies in a fraternity house fire.
Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC): Logan and Bareck look at an airport worker when another prostitute is found dead after falling from an airline wheel well.
Crossing Jordan (NBC): Pollack writes and explosive article about the murder of a military officer and he, Jordan and Woody find that they are tangled up in a corporate cover-up.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (ABC): A bachelor who has been raising his niece and nephew gets his rundown house redone.
NCIS (CBS): Repeat where the bodies in the barrels were finally identified.
Without a Trace (CBS): Repeat episode where a college student, which everyone thought had been killed by her professor may actually still be alive.
Emeril Live (Food Network): See how Emeril kicks up some rice and bean recipes.
Iron Chef America (Food Network): See whose cuisine reigns supreme when Iron Chef Cat Cora faces off against Chef Neal Fraser.
The Shield (FX): Replay of Enemy of Good episode from earlier this week.
It is championship weekend for the NFL. Today on CBS in the early game you will find the Pittsburgh Steelers trying to go into Denver and beat the hometown Broncos. In the late game on Fox you will find my hometown Seattle Seahawks trying to defend their perfect record at home this season against the Carolina Panthers. The winner of each will meet on February 5th in the Superbowl. Go Seahawks!!
