Smallville reminds me of a movie from the early 90s. CSI isn’t psychic enough. Without a Trace is a repeat of one of my favorite episodes from this season. Juliette Lewis tries to go all bounty hunter on Joy. Teachers tries to get an Earl ratings bump. Jeremy Piven goes on a journey. The O.C. makes some college plans or not. Anthony Bourdain shows you some truly embarrassing moments with no reservations. Tiger, Phil, Vijay and the rest try to tame the new longer Augusta National Golf Course. What will you be watching tonight on TV?
Prime Picks
Smallville (WB): Lana takes an injection that allows her to flatline and visit with her dead parents. Maybe Kevin Bacon and Julia Roberts will make an appearance.
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS): A psychic that envisions her own death gets murdered. Guess it doesn’t matter if you can see it coming or not.
Without a Trace (CBS): Repeat. A man is missing and the team tries to find him by finding the little girl in a bunch of child pornography photos they find at his house. There is a good twist in this very good episode.
Solid Selections
Will & Grace (NBC): The countdown to the end continues.
The Loop (FOX): It is new and the repeat episode of Earl is not one of the better ones.
My Name Is Earl (NBC): Juliette Lewis guest stars as an old girlfriend of Earl’s that is now a bounty hunter and has returned to seek revenge on Joy for Earl leaving her.
Teachers (NBC): Repeat of the series premiere. This was a pretty unfunny beginning to this new Tuesday night comedy. It will be a complete let down after Earl and in place of The Office.
ER (NBC): Repeat where a patient wakes from a really long coma and Kovac wrestles with whether to tell her the truth about her past and how she ended up there. Starts a minute before the hour.
Other Options
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (ABC): More after the storm builds in New Orleans.
The O.C. (FOX): College acceptance and rejection letters arrive and the kids have to make some tough decisions about their futures.
Primetime (ABC): ABC News investigative reports.
Cable Choices
Jeremy Piven’s Journey of a Lifetime (Travel Channel): Jeremy Piven takes a trip around the world and starts off in Bombay.
Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (Travel Channel): Outtakes, funny and painful bits from the show that you have not seen before.
The Next Food Network Star (Food Network): Repeat of Sunday’s episode with the remaining contestants getting advice from Giada De Laurentiis.
Sports Notes
ESPN has MLB action with the Washington Nationals taking on the New York Mets. TNT has and NBA doubleheader with the Detroit Pistons at the Miami Heat in the first game followed by the Los Angeles Lakers at the Denver Nuggets in the second. TBS has an Atlanta Braves at the San Francisco Giants baseball game. My pick of the day sports wise is first round coverage of The Masters golf tournament from Augusta National on USA. They have added another 155 yards to the course since last year’s tournament. USA shows it live during the day and then repeats it again at night.
