Tonight on the Tube: NBA Finals, Last Comic Standing, Titans of Taste & Rescue Me

Men's NBA Finals 2006 Ringer TeeTonight there are plenty of repeats worth checking out, especially if you missed them the first time. “If you haven’t seen it then it’s new to you,” as they say. Whoever they are, I don’t know but they sure say a lot of stuff. At any rate if the NBA Finals or comics competing doesn’t float your boat then check out NCIS, The Unit, Gilmore Girls or either of the House episodes, as each of them was very good the first time around.

Prime Picks

NBA Finals Game 6 (ABC): The Heat have taken a three games to two lead but the series shifts back to Dallas where the Mavericks won the first two games. Who will win tonight? Will Dallas pushes it to a seventh game or will Miami be crowned champions? The broadcast starts at 9:00 p.m. Eastern and will run about three hours unless they go into overtime again.

Solid Selections

NCIS (CBS): Repeat. A student at an on base school is holding his classmates hostage. Gibbs and the team try to get everybody out without incident. This was a very good episode.

Last Comic Standing (NBC): New. How do you deal with a heckler? Find out tonight as tempers flair and two comics get sent home.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (CBS): Repeat. SVU meets Cold Case as the remains of a boy missing 30 years is found at a construction site.

Cable Choices

Last Comic Standing (Bravo): Repeat. If you missed last week’s episode then you can catch it here before tonight’s new one on NBC.

Titans of Taste (Food Network): New. Get a look at grocery store innovators like Orville Redenbacher and Chef Boyardee in tonight’s episode.

Rescue Me (FX): New. They respond last second to a school bus accident and are criticized by the community. In other stories Tommy and Janet get into it and Sheila makes Tommy a weird offer. Runs 63 minutes and replays again right after.

Other Options

  • Dirty Jobs (Discovery Channel): New. See what it takes to be a float dismantler.
  • Gilmore Girls (WB): Repeat. You don’t need to watch the entire episode but the opening dream sequence shouldn’t be missed as we find out who the real Paul Anka is.
  • House (FOX): Repeats. Two episodes back to back, in the first the relationship between a father and son interferes with diagnosis and in the second a professional cyclist House thinks is doping is admitted.
  • Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List (Bravo): New. See what the D-Lister is up to this week. Repeats again later.
  • Overhaulin’ (TLC): New. An Oldsmobile 442 is completely redone by the team.
