Monk is one of the best shows on TV right now and Season 5 starts on Friday, July 7th on USA. Why is it one of the best? Well because of Tony Shaloub and the great character he has created. Monk has just about every phobia you can think of but yet is still a brilliant detective solving cases that nobody else can. He puts things together that most miss. His interaction with his surroundings and others is something to watch. This season included some fine episodes like “Mr. Monk and the Other Detective†with guest star Jason Alexander, “Mr. Monk Goes Home Again†with guest star John Turturro and “Mr. Monk Goes to the Office.†The TV show DVD set includes all 16 season four episodes on four discs. Tomorrow on the Tube we will find out if America really liked the talent or not as America’s Got Talent returns but will the viewers? Also we will find out if the series premiere of Blade on Spike is any good and the return of the outstanding BBC import Hustle on AMC returns for its third season. Will you be watching any of these tomorrow? What will you be watching tonight on TV?
House (FOX): Repeat. House must determine what the connection between the symptoms of a gay AIDS patient and his father is. Another episode follows.
Last Comic Standing (NBC): New. Adam Carolla and a radio challenge is the next test for the remaining contestants.
Boston Legal (ABC): Repeat. A famous photographer who has recently passed had nude pictures of Shirley in her youth to which Alan is called in to help make sure they never see the light of day.
NCIS (CBS): Repeat. A good episode where a soldier’s body is found in a frozen lake and it turns out to be a body dumping ground and the team investigates.
Pepper Dennis (WB): New. Second to last episode of this show where Kimmy does some online dating and Pepper investigates to make sure things are on the up in up. In other news Charlie super white teeth are causing a viewer trouble ala Mary Hart’s voice.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (NBC): Repeat. A teenage runaway is found beaten and upon examination it is discovered that baby she was carrying was killed.
Emeril Live (Food Network): Repeat. Emeril has fun with his guest chef Sam Choy.
Overhaulin’ (TLC): New. See them build the Lemama’s Boy.
Rescue Me (FX): New. Marisa Tomei guest stars as Johnny’s ex-wife and Tommy decides to get a little payback on his brother. Runs 65 minutes and plays twice.
Tonight is the night to have cable as all the good stuff tonight is there. Especially The Closer on TNT as this is one of the best shows anywhere on TV right now. In sports the Wimbledon tennis tournament starts today and you can find coverage on ESPN2. Will Roger Federer walk away with a fourth straight trophy on the grass?
The King of Queens (CBS): Repeat. Doug ends up babysitting and becomes quite good at it even though he is just trying to bother Carrie.
How I Met Your Mother (CBS): Repeat. In this episode Ted thinks that maybe his dream woman is someone he has already dated. The funniest bit of this episode is Barney getting Robin to say weird things on the air.
Two and a Half Men (CBS): Repeat. Alan falls off the roof while trying to adjust the dish so Charlie watches Jake for the weekend.
The New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS): Repeat. Richard gets a bit jealous when he finds out that Christine is on her fifth date with a new guy.
CSI: Miami (CBS): Repeat. A couple recently released from jail who have been plastered all over the new media are in danger and the team has to figure out who is trying to kill them.
Treasure Hunters (NBC): Repeat. The first episode replays.
Treasure Hunters (NBC): New. The remaining teams must decipher a clue based on Lewis & Clark to get their hands on the second artifact.
How to Get the Guy (ABC): New. The four women get to ask a group of men anything they want and the truth must be told to them.
Kyle XY (ABC Family): Series Premiere. This John Doe looking show is about a teenage boy who wakes up naked in the forest and then found wandering. He ends up being taken in by a psychologist and her family. Who is Kyle XY?
The Closer (TNT): New. Deputy Chief Johnson and the Priority Homicide team investigate the case of three young people who are killed and replays after Saved.
Saved (TNT): New. Police think Harper is a person who is impersonating a paramedic and Wyatt and Sack get called out on one wacky problem.
Are you’re a fan of the TV show Huff on Showtime? Well Showtime has decided not to pick it up for a third season. So tonight’s episode will be the series finale. In other TV happenings Robert Duvall plays a cowboy in a new miniseries on AMC. Also the Three’s Company weekend TV marathon continues today. What will you be watching tonight on TV?
Cold Case (CBS): Repeat. A 1988 case involving four high school friends is reopened when one of them is found dead.
Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC): Repeat. A good episode with Logan and Barek investigating a violinist who was pushed to her death at the opera house she was performing at.
Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): Repeat. Christina is being a bad patient and Meredith’s mom is keeping the staff on their toes.
The Simpsons (FOX): Repeat. Bart while being watched by Homer gets taken by a monkey and that leaves Marge having to get her son back.
Family Guy (FOX): Repeat. One of the few episodes from last season that I actually saw which had guest star James Woods, it was actually pretty funny.
Family Guy (FOX): Repeat. Brian becomes an activist and Jasper wants to get married at the Griffin’s place.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FOX): Repeat. Another episode on this network in hopes of drawing your attention so when the new season premieres on another network you will want to watch it. New season starts June 29th on FX.
Crossing Jordan (NBC): Repeat. Fun episode where Jordan and Woody get snowed in at an allegedly haunted bed and breakfast where an infamous mass murder once occurred. This episode is full of weird and colorful characters.
Emeril Live (Food Network): New. Mario Batali joins Emeril in the kitchen to cook their favorite Italian recipes.
The 4400 (USA): New. Part 1. Part 2 airs next week. A kidnapper is taking young 4400 members. NTAC tries to figure out who it is and put a stop to it.
The Dead Zone (USA): New. Episode is titled “Independence Day.â€
Discovery Channel – 16 episodes of Deadliest Catch.
TV Land – The Three’s Company weekend continues.
