New DVD TV Shows: Arrested Development, Desperate Housewives, Mr. Bean & More

This week’s offering of DVD TV shows leans toward the comic. Whether you like the outlandish Desperate Housewives, the British Mr. Bean, the cartoonish South Park, the science fiction-ish Mystery Science Theater 3000, the squeamish Flavor of Love, the down home humor-ish The Andy Griffith Show or the Prime Pick-ish Arrested Development this is your week for TV shows on DVD.

Arrested Development - Season 3Arrested Development – Season 3
This truly was a great show and now it is just another in the long line of poorly promoted, deficiently dealt with and prematurely cancelled shows by FOX. Why more people didn’t watch this show is beyond me. It was one of the best-written and cleverly plotted shows on TV. The Bluth family is one of the most dysfunctional families to hit TV since the Campbells and the Tates on Soap. The third season DVD set includes all 13 episodes on two discs. Special features include commentaries on three episodes by the creator and actors, deleted and extended scenes, a blooper reel and a behind the scenes featurette about the last days of filming. This is a must have for fans of TV shows with great characters, superb writing and witty comedy. Will you be adding it to your DVD TV collection?
