Tonight on the Tube: Prison Break, Heroes, Studio 60 and Everwood from the Beginning

Everwood - The Complete First SeasonA little TV shows news today. Prison Break will be taking a short break for baseball after tonight’s episode. Emeril Live is back on the Food Network with new episodes. The Heroes “Pilot” will replay on USA. The Bachelor premieres tonight on ABC with and actual prince and 27 ladies competing for his affections, 15 who will be sent packing in the initial rose ceremony. This is the lamest sounding one yet especially since none of the previous has worked out. For fans of the cancelled Everwood you can watch the show from the beginning starting today on ABC Family. Episodes will air daily starting with the show’s first episode today at 6:00 p.m./5:00 p.m. Central.

Prime Picks

Prison Break (FOX): New. When last we left the gang they were digging in the garage and Michael and T-Bag were upstairs with the lady of the house when a police officer showed up and T-Bag took put a hammer to her throat. How will they get out of this one and do they find the buried treasure? I will be tuning in to find out. Will you? This is the last episode for a little while as FOX has the MLB Playoffs and World Series during the month of October. It shall return after baseball.

Heroes (NBC): New. More people with abilities are introduced including a cop who can hear people’s thoughts. This has proven to be thoroughly more interesting than Vanished on FOX. The “Pilot” episode replays tonight late on USA, see below.

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (NBC): New. A focus group says that the success of the first show may have been a fluke because of all the hype.

Solid Selections

The Class (CBS): New. This so far has been a completely unfunny show but I would still rather watch it than Wife Swap on ABC, Deal or No Deal on NBC or 7th Heaven on The CW while waiting for the always fun How I Met Your Mother which comes on next.
How I Met Your Mother (CBS): New. We get to meet Ted’s parents in this episode and find out a family secret.

Two and a Half Men (CBS): New. Charlie has a near death experience and thinks he sees he dead father.
The New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS): New. Nice little twist at the end of last week’s episode and another is revealed in this one.

CSI: Miami (CBS): New. It is the 100th episode and the team while investigating the murder of a celebrity exposes the counterfeiting of $100 bills.

Cable Choices

Emeril Live (Food Network): New. Emeril goes all Home Ec 101 with some classic recipes tonight.

Unwrapped (Food Network): New. See about all kinds of shakes.
Unwrapped (Food Network): Repeat. See about spreadable foods.

The Secret Life Of … (Food Network): New. Get the history of quick and easy meals.
The Secret Life Of … (Food Network): Repeat. The history of party dips is revealed.

Other Options

  • Runaway (The CW): New. I have yet to see the first episode yet but have read and heard that it was pretty good.
  • Vanished (FOX): New. Kelton take the news of what they found to the Senator as he prepares to leave to make his vote.
  • Weeds (Showtime): New. It is harvest time for Nancy and Conrad.

Sports Notes

  • ESPN has Monday Night Football with the Green Bay Packers at the Philadelphia Eagles.

  • Late Night With Conan O’Brien (NBC): New. See comic Dennis Miller and musical guest Evanescence.
