Tonight on the Tube: Heroes and Grey’s Repeats, Men in Trees, Numb3rs and MLB Playoff Doubleheader

Detroit Tigers Navy Home Authentic On-Field Fitted HatMonday night’s Heroes episode, “One Giant Leap,” replays tonight before Doctor Who on the Sci Fi Channel. Today is Friday the 13th so I am sure that you will be able to find many a movie with that title or similar playing today. Major League Baseball has decided to play both games tonight at different times instead of head to head like usual. This is a good idea and about time. In TV news for Friday the new game show 1 vs. 100 premieres tonight and next week the show Extreme Makeover returns to the ABC lineup. Also the new season of Las Vegas premieres next week as well.

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): Repeat. Repeat of last night’s episode. Next week in this timeslot will be a season premiere of a new season of Extreme Makeover.

Men in Trees (ABC): New. Patrick is confused because Annie wants to limit their romantic time and Marin tries being friends with a man she has been intimate with.

Numb3rs (CBS): New. A Chinese Consulate interpreter is killed by a hit and run but Charlie figures out that it wasn’t an accident.

Solid Selections

Deal or No Deal (NBC): New. Howie asks people the question and they continue to open cases.

1 vs. 100 (NBC): Show Premiere. The goal is to win the $1 million dollar prize. The test is that you are playing against 100 other people. The host is Bob Saget.

Law & Order (NBC): New. A man is accused of a hate-crime and hires an expensive attorney to get him off.

Cable Choices

Take Home Chef (TLC): New. Two kinds of fettuccine are prepared. Plays again later.
Take Home Chef (TLC): New. Mahi Mahi is prepared. Plays again later.

Battlestar Galactica (Sci Fi): New. Part 1 of 2 where Adama is preparing to rescue the humans on New Caprica while Sharon is trying to lead the insurgency. Plays again later.

Threshold (Sci Fi): Repeat. The short-lived CBS sci-fi series starts being shown tonight and will play each Friday night until they exhaust all the episodes. This was a good show.

Other Options

  • Doctor Who (Sci Fi): New. While investigating a haunted school in London the Doctor runs into an old friend.
  • Monk (USA): Repeat. Monk has to get a new therapist.

Sports Notes

  • ESPN has college football action with Pittsburgh at Central Florida.
  • FOX has doubleheader MLB Playoffs with the Game 3 of the NLCS followed by Game 2 of the NLCS.
  • USA has round two of the Frys.com Open golf tournament from Las Vegas.
