Happy New Year’s Eve! Can you believe that 2006 is almost over? The last year really flew by. There are many ways to ring in the New Year tonight on the tube. There are also a whole lot of TV marathons during the day and of course NFL games to be watched. The best of the New Year’s Eve TV Marathons are Ugly Betty on ABC Family, Entourage on HBO, Seinfeld on TBS, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on USA and the biggest of them all Twilight Zone on the Sci Fi Channel, which doesn’t end until Tuesday morning. When Harry Met Sally (Oxygen): Released 1989. Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan in the classic romantic comedy that comes to a climax on New Year’s Eve. It runs two hours and plays twice tonight.

ABC has a mini marathon of Ugly Betty episodes but on cable you will find a few TV show marathons. The best of today’s bunch is the Friday Night Lights marathon on Bravo. They are playing all 10 of the episodes so far from this season. This is a show definitely worth checking out. It is one of the best new shows of the season and one that will be sticking around for the entire season. In the third Betty has to deal with Amanda going after her job.

This is the last Friday of the year and there isn’t much on tonight. During the day you can catch nine pretty good episodes of Smallville, which includes the “Pilot” episode. This week has given me a chance to catch up on shows that I TiVo ’d but hadn’t watched yet. I have now seen the all the episodes of The Unit for this season with two and three episode mini marathons each night this week. It makes it like watching one really long exciting action movie. • Quigley Down Under (Hallmark Channel): Released 1990. Tom Selleck as a sharpshooter hired by an Australian to help him with a problem but he refuses and this doesn’t sit to well with the man that brought him over. This is a very good western. Runs two hours.

TV Marathon

ABC Family has nine episodes of Smallville followed by Superman: The Movie.

Your choice tonight is to pick your favorite repeat or pick something you have never watched before and give it a shot. If the two-hour comedy block on NBC fits that bill then I highly recommend you check it out, as each episode is pretty good. For something new you can check out the first season finale of the comedy My Boys on TBS. For the sports fans out there you will find three doubleheaders tonight. There are a couple of college football bowl games, a couple of college basketball games and a couple of NBA games.
