Tonight is second chance Friday. Tonight the series premieres of Dirt on FX and The Knights of Prosperity and In Case of Emergency on ABC replay tonight. Have you seen any or all of these yet? What did you think? I have only seen In Case of Emergency so far. I still have Knights recorded and plan on recording Dirt tonight and watching them over the weekend sometime.
Prime Picks
1 vs. 100 (NBC): New. Talk about and hour of TV with nothing to really choose from where this schlock fest is your best option.
Las Vegas (NBC): New. The Montecito is about to auction off an old bottle of wine when Mike figures out it is not the real deal.
Numb3rs (CBS): New. The leader of a polygamous sect is wanted on charges of rape and murder.
Solid Selections
According to Jim (ABC): Repeat. Jim teaches his son how to defend himself against a school bully and then his son gets suspended when he continues beating the other boy.
According to Jim (ABC): Repeat. Jim gets Cheryl all up in a tizzy when he suggests that men shouldn’t let their women feminize them.
The Knights of Prosperity (ABC): Repeat. The series premiere replays. If you missed it on Wednesday night here is another chance to see it. I haven’t got a chance to watch it yet.
In Case of Emergency (ABC): Repeat. The series premiere replays. It is the story of four former high school classmates that reunite under not the best of circumstances. It wasn’t all that funny. They had to have them meet somehow. Future episodes could be good given the shows premise of life not turning out like they thought it might back in high school.
Law & Order (NBC): New. Mariel Hemingway plays a former model and now tabloid queen whose son dies of a brain tumor that was caused by bone replacement surgery in his leg. Unfortunately if you have seen the NBC promo you already know what the twist is so the show probably won’t be as interesting as it might have been.
Cable Choices
Emeril Live (Food Network): Repeat. Emeril cooks up some dishes from his book There’s a Chef in My World!
Monk (USA): Repeat. Monk is pushed to go after big reward being offered for finding a stolen diamond. The rest of the season five episodes return on January 19th.
Psych (USA): Repeat. There has been a robbery of an antique wedding ring at a high society wedding and Shawn crashes with a reluctant Gus to figure out what happened. New episodes return on January 19th.
Other Options
- Jake 2.0 (Sci Fi): Repeats. The Sci Fi Channel is running episodes of Jake 2.0 the short-lived UPN series that lasted 12 episodes before being cancelled. There were 16 episodes in all and the first three play tonight. This was a pretty good show on a pretty bad network.
- Paula’s Party (Food Network): New. Paula whips up a few buttery dishes cause everything is better with butter.
Sports Notes
- ESPN has an NBA doubleheader with the Dallas Mavericks at the San Antonio Spurs followed by the Miami Heat at the Phoenix Suns.
- ESPN2 has Friday Night Fights.
- Golf Channel has second round coverage of the Mercedes Championships from Hawaii.
Late Night
- Dirt (FX): Repeat. The “Pilot†episode replays tonight for those that missed it on Tuesday as I did. See Courtney Cox as a tabloid editor out to get the juiciest bits of gossip she can.
TV Marathon
TV Land continues with its M*A*S*H marathon tonight, which began on New Year’s Day. They will be playing 12 hours of episodes each night until January 7th. Then it will settle into its regular timeslot on the network starting on the 8th.
