Take a Virtual Tour of SpringfieldSo, what will you be watching tonight? Will it be The Grammy Awards? If you are a music fan at least you get a lot of musical performances between the award presentations. Usually more entertaining than most awards shows, well, except for the opening of the Oscars when Billy Crystal is hosting. An about hosts, the awards presentation tonight is going host-less in Los Angeles. This sounds like a good idea compared to most awards shows, as well. I can’t wait until awards season is over. Unfortunately, that only means the whole thing will be starting all over again, in no time. What do you think of awards shows?

Prime Picks

The Simpsons (FOX): New. Bart gets a license to drive while Lisa exaggerates part of a school project and gets to go to City Hall.
King of the Hill (FOX): New. Bobby’s snake goes down the toilet and Animal Control must be called in for help.

Desperate Housewives (ABC): New. Mike starts to remember things from his past in flashes while Tom and Lynette are letting squabbles at the pizzeria mess with their home life and Orson comes clean about some of his past to Bree. Runs 61 minutes.

Brothers & Sisters (ABC): New. Kitty and the Senator are having trouble avoiding each other with romance in the air on Valentine’s Day. Margot Kidder (Superman) guest stars as a friend of Nora’s and they get in a bit of trouble together.

Solid Selection

The 49th Annual Grammy Awards (CBS): New. Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more perform during the ceremony to honor the best in music from last year. Even without a host this year the proceedings still runs 3½ hours.

Cable Choices

Emeril Live (Food Network): New. Viewers submitted their favorite recipes for Emeril’s Chocolate Challenge and he whips up a few.

The Dresden Files (Sci Fi): New. There have been a bunch of ritualistic slayings and Det. Murphy asks Dresden for help. Plays again later.

Battlestar Galactica (Sci Fi): New. The Galactica’s medical team is under pressure to stop a deadly outbreak after the ship takes on some refugees. Plays again later.

Other Options

  • Crossing Jordan (NBC): New. Danny and Delinda from Las Vegas stay in Boston to help investigate when a fighter from Vegas is found dead after winning his bout.
  • Dirt (FX): Repeat. Last Tuesday’s episode, “The Secret Lives of Altar Girls,” replays tonight. Runs 62 minutes.
  • Iron Chef America (Food Network): New. Iron Chef Bobby Flay takes on Chef Graham Bowles in Kitchen Stadium.

Sports Notes

  • ABC has an NBA doubleheader with the San Antonio Spurs at the Miami Heat followed by the Los Angeles Lakers at the Cleveland Cavaliers.
  • CBS has college basketball followed by the final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament.
  • ESPN has Sunday Night Basketball with the Chicago Bulls at the Phoenix Suns.
  • FOX has NASCAR qualifying for the Daytona 500.
