in Tonight on the Tube

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation The Board GameJoss Whedon of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame directs tonight’s The Office episode while Grey’s Anatomy continues its three-show story arc and the Miniature Killer is still on the loose in Vegas. The O.C. plays its last episode before the final episode, which airs next week. This has been a really good season for that show, too bad so many people lost interest in it over the last couple of seasons and, of course, that it was scheduled up against a couple of 800 lb. ratings gorillas.

Prime Picks

My Name Is Earl (NBC): New. Earl thinks about the people he has crossed off his list over the past year while celebrating his birthday.
The Office (NBC): New. Ryan has invited Michael to his business school to be a guest speaker, I am sure that just goes swimmingly. In other developments, Pam invites people from the office to her first art show.

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): New. Part 2 of 3 continues the ferry crash story where Meredith has been sent into the water and Izzie is doing whatever she can think of to save a man stuck under a truck. Runs 61 minutes.

Men in Trees (ABC): New. Marin finds Cash’s lifestyle a bit weird after she allows him to move into her cabin while he renovates it for her. There is also some surprising news about Jack and Lynn. Patrick finally meets Annie’s parents.

Solid Selections

Smallville (The CW): New. Clark and his trustee sidekick Chloe find out that Lex has been using a meteor freak that can detect others who have been changed so he can experiment on them.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS): New. Grissom finally opens that package they have been teasing us with and finds another miniature murder scene that will happen the next day. Guess he should have gotten to it sooner.

Shark (CBS): New. The wife of a judge, played by Tim Matheson, who is on the fast track, is killed and Stark gets the case. Turns out these two don’t get along so well.

Cable Choices

Emeril Live (Food Network): Repeat. Emeril helps college kids cook on a budget.

American Chopper (TLC): New. The guys start work on a new bike for Flowjet while Mikey starts a project in secret.

Throwdown With Bobby Flay (Food Network): Repeat. A cheesesteak battle is waged.
Ace of Cakes (Food Network): New. A King Kong cake is made.

Other Options

  • 30 Rock (NBC): New. Liz tries to take a more relaxed stance in her management style while Jack takes Tracy to an event and it doesn’t turn out so well.

  • The O.C. (FOX): New. Everyone is trying to find each other after the earthquake.
  • Scrubs (NBC): New. J.D. has started fainting and blacking out at odd times and Turk and Eliot argue over whose turn it is to help out an unlucky intern.
  • Ugly Betty (ABC): New. Daniel tries to connect with a woman he once stood up in college played by Lucy Liu (Ally McBeal) while Betty makes a new friend in the cafeteria.
