Grey's Anatomy: Notes from the Nurse's Station and Overheard at the Emerald City BarThere is some good news for fans of Men in Trees, which I am one. The show has been picked up for another season. So, next fall Marin, Jack and the rest of the inhabitants of Elmo will be back. I can’t wait until they bring it back for the rest of this season, but now we will at least know that however it ends, it will be back next season to pick up the story and keep going.

Prime Picks

Smallville (The CW): New. Clark and Chloe find out that one of the Zoners is participating in and underground fight club that shows the fights on the Internet.

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): New. George finally gets to meet his new father-in-law. Alex continues to help Jane Doe, while Izzie deals with a something she finds startling. Runs 61 minutes.

Raines (NBC): New. Raines is working the case of a body found decomposing in the Venice canals. Also, he starts seeing a psychiatrist. The show was kind of fun and way better than October Road over on ABC.

Solid Selections

My Name Is Earl (NBC): Repeat. The two episodes where Earl gets Catalina deported and then Randy marries her so she can get back in are replayed tonight with the added bonus of never before seen bloopers from the cast.

Scrubs (NBC): New. Turk’s new baby nanny is hot and the guys try to not notice that fact.
Andy Barker, P.I. (NBC): New. A client of Andy’s dies while playing golf and his wife wants Andy to find out who killed him.

October Road (ABC): New. Nick tries to find out if Hannah’s son is also his son while he also tries to convince the dean at the college to hire him as a professor. Last week’s premiere was one of the worst shows I have seen in a long time. It does have some potential, as some of the cast is quite likeable. We shall see how the rating hold up from last week’s numbers. My guess is that they won’t. What did you think of October Road? I thought the show was “in diapers.” Not because it was just getting started, but because it was full of crap.

Cable Choices

Chefography (Food Network): Repeat. Chef Giada DeLuarentiis is profiled.

Chefography (Food Network): New. Chef Mario Batali is profiled.

The Dresden Files (USA): Repeat. The Sci Fi original show gets a play over on sister network USA tonight. Episodes normally air on Sci Fi on Sunday nights before Battlestar Galactica.

Other Options

  • Penn & Teller: Bull****! (Showtime): Season Premiere. More myth debunking as only this twosome can do. In this episode they take on some surrounding obesity.
  • Ugly Betty (ABC): New. Marc wants Betty to pretend to be his girlfriend when his mother comes for a visit.

Sports Notes

  • CBS has the first half of the Sweet 16 games from the NCAA Tournament.
  • ESPN has the men’s free skate and other action from the Figure Skating World Championships.
  • ESPN2 has Arena Football with John Elway’s team against Bon Jovi’s team.
  • NBA TV has the Denver Nuggets at the Chicago Bulls.

TV Marathon

Sci Fi Channel has six episodes of the really fun show, Eureka.
