Tonight on the Tube: Elite 8 Basketball, Robin Hood, The Riches and Chefography

Robin Hood - Season 1As I mentioned yesterday, you can find three episodes of Friday Night Lights in the afternoon on NBC’s sister cable channel Bravo. This is supposed to keep up through the end of the season for the show. If college basketball doesn’t interest you, you will find a few TV marathons listed below for some alternative viewing.

Prime Picks

NCAA Tournament (CBS): New. The first four teams from the Elite 8 play today. The first game is (2) Memphis vs. (1) Ohio State followed by (2) UCLA vs. (1) Kansas. The first game starts about 4:30 p.m. Eastern and the second game is scheduled for about 7:00 p.m. Eastern. There is an hour and a half long Road to the Final Four pregame show before the first game.

Solid Selections

Celebrity Debuts (ABC): Repeat. See John Travolta, Halle Berry, Felicity Huffman, Kate Winslet and more before they became famous.

Coyote Ugly (ABC): Released 2000. Piper Perabo plays a young woman who heads to New York to follow her dream of being a singer, but ends up working and dancing in a bar. There is plenty of eye candy for the guys in this one. Runs two hours.

Cable Choices

Chefography (Food Network): Repeat. The Emeril Lagasse episode replays, as does a few others. See TV Marathons below.

Robin Hood (BBC America): New. Robin and the gang find a baby left in Sherwood Forest while Roy is taken by the Sheriff and told to either kill Robin or watch his mother hang. I wonder what the third option will end up being. Last week’s episode plays right before.

The Riches (FX): Repeat. Last Monday’s episode, “Believe the Lies,” replays and runs 68 minutes.

Other Options

  • Trading Spaces (TLC): New. Frank and Christi along with Carter help two Rhode Island homeowners with fixing up a room in each other’s place.

Sports Notes

  • ABC has NASCAR racing with the Busch Series: Sharpie MINI 300.
  • CBS has the Division II college championship basketball game before all the NCAA Elite 8 games get going today.
  • ESPN and ESPN2 bounce back and forth between Women’s NCAA Basketball and the Figure Skating World Championships.
  • NBC has PGA Golf from Doral with Tiger Woods in the lead after he shot a 66 yesterday.

Late Night

  • MADtv (FOX): Repeat. Seth MacFarlane joins in the fun.
  • Saturday Night Live (NBC): New. Super Bowl Champion Peyton Manning hosts with musical guest Carrie Underwood.
  • Talkshow With Spike Feresten (FOX): Repeat. Seth MacFarlane is his guest.
