Prime Picks

My Name Is Earl (NBC): Repeat. Earl once stole a prize-winning cat and now tries to make up for it and his brother falls for the woman he stole it from.
30 Rock (NBC): Repeat. Jack gets worked into a sketch. If I am remembering correctly, this one had a lot of stuff about product placement in shows, which was very funny.

The Office (NBC): Repeat. The one where after Michael gets reprimanded for having a movie Monday to boost moral, Angela talks Dwight into trying to take his job.
Scrubs (NBC): Repeat. This one had some spoofing of the FOX show House and was quite funny.

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (NBC): New. During the show, Jordan starts having pregnancy problems, while Tom is having some problems of his own and Matt’s pill popping get found out. Good, then maybe that means that Matt and Danny will be in this episode. It was quite weird last week with out either of them in the show. Did you watch last week, what did you think?

Solid Selections

2007 Scripps National Spelling Bee (ABC): New. Two hours of coverage of the final round from the spelling competition. Will anybody faint under the pressure this year? Could ABC use that clip anymore to promote this year’s special?

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): Repeat. Burke and Cristina’s relationship has been strained. Meredith has one of her half sisters come into the hospital. Mark and Derek must work together on a case in this rerun of the “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” episode.

Cable Choices

Emeril Live (Food Network): Repeat. Emeril grills up some recipes from the Get Grilling cookbook.

The Starter Wife (USA) Series Premiere. Stars Debra Messing (Will & Grace) as a woman trying to start her life over after her movie mogul husband divorces her. Runs 1 hr. 53 min. and plays again later. Based on the book by Gigi Levangie Grazer of the same name.

Other Options

  • American Chopper (TLC): New. The gang is asked to build a bike by actor Russell Crowe that has an Australia theme. Plays again later.
  • CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS): Repeat. Very good episode with guest star Roger Daltry of The Who, which the show uses songs of for the opening theme music of all three flavors of CSI. This episode revolves around the real disappearance of mob boss Mickey Dunn in the 1970s.
  • Iron Chef America (Food Network): Repeat. Watch as Sunday’s battle between Iron Chef Bobby Flay and Chef Peter Kelley replays and then plays again later.
  • Smallville (The CW): Repeat. Clark over does it trying to clean up after the mess Zod created and catches a cold, but it’s ok, as he finds that if he needs to, he can get all Big Bad Wolf and when he needs to, he can huff and puff and blow a giant safe door down.

Sports Notes

  • ESPN2 has early round tennis coverage of the French Open.
  • TNT has Game 5 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals with the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Detroit Pistons and the series tied at two games apiece.
