World Poker Tour(TM): Shuffle Up and DealTonight you will find the season premiere of Footballers Wive$ on BBC America, American Inventor on ABC, Ghost Hunters on Sci Fi and the series premiere of Samantha Brown: Passport to Latin America on the Travel Channel and Tyler Perry’s House Of Payne on TBS. Last Comic Standing on NBC, Rescue Me on FX, Top Chef on Bravo and Lil’ Bush on Comedy Central all premiere next week. Also next week, is the fourth season finale of One Tree Hill on The CW. In other news, Television Week and others are reporting that CBS may be close to bringing back Jericho for a shortened second season that would air at midseason, ala, 24 on FOX and now Lost on ABC. I guess just shy of 20 Tons of Nuts is enough to get CBS to rethink their cancellation of the show. Let me know what you think, will you be glad to see Jericho back, even if for only seven or eight episodes?

Hidden Palms (The CW): New. Johnny’s girlfriend from rehab comes to visit and puts a crimp in his pursuit of Greta.

Criminal Minds (CBS): Repeat. The episode from after the Super Bowl replays where the team investigates the murder of a wealthy couple after their party for the big game. This was the first of a two-part episode.

Traveler (CBS): New. Tyler and Jay decide to see if they can find any clues back at their place in New Haven. While Kim’s life is starting to fall apart.

The Next Best Thing: Who is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator (ABC): New. Find out what happened at the New York auditions.

So You Think You Can Dance (FOX): New. It is time for second auditions in Las Vegas.

CSI: NY (CBS): New. Mac and Stella have to figure out a hidden code that is found on T-shirts that a serial killer is using to inspire his killings, in order to catch him.

Cable Choices

Emeril Live (Food Network): Repeat. Emeril has Jimmy Buffet in studio for an island party.

Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (TBS): Series Premiere. Someone is playing sick to get out of going to school because of a bully.
Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (TBS): New. The birthday boy gets called away for a fire on his 50th.

Good Eats (Food Network): New. Alton checks out a “Milk Made.”
Dinner: Impossible (Food Network): Repeat. Some international chefs are competed against.

Other Options

  • The King of Queens (CBS): Repeats. Two episodes from this past season replay. In the first, Doug tries being a manager at IPS and in the second, Doug scares Major and then tries to win back his love.
  • MythBusters (Discovery Channel): New. Find out how dangerous it can be when a truck tire explodes. Plays again later.
  • Top Chef (Bravo): New. A special where chefs from season one and season two face off. Should get you warmed up for next Wednesday’s premiere of season three. Plays again later, two more times. Also look for the season one marathon leading up to it.
  • World Poker Tour (Travel Channel): New. A little “Caribbean Poker Adventure” is played out. Runs two hours.

Sports Notes

  • ESPN has Wednesday Night Baseball with the Philadelphia Phillies at the New York Mets.
  • ESPN2 has tennis coverage of the men’s quarterfinals from the French Open and then the deciding game in the Women’s College World Series.
  • NBC has Game 5 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals.

Bravo has 11 season one episodes of Top Chef today.
Sci Fi has eight episodes of Threshold early today.
