Saturday Night College Football (ABC): USC (1) at Nebraska (14). Broadcast starts at 8:00 p.m. ET and is scheduled for 3½ hours.

Solid Selections

Jericho (CBS): Repeat. The first season finale replays. The citizens of Jericho have to defend themselves from neighboring town New Bern. New episodes return late winter/early spring in 2008.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC): Repeat. A judge is killed during a reenactment of a famous duel. Goren and Eames investigate.

Medium (NBC): Repeat. The murder of Walter Paxton’s wife continues and Allison is worrying about whether or not to tell her new friend, played by Neve Campbell (Party of Five) about her dream.

Cable Choices

Torchwood (BBC America): New. Last week’s premiere episode, “Everything Changes,” replays. Not sure how I spaced it, but I forgot to mention this show was beginning last week. This episode plays earlier in the day as well.

Torchwood (BBC America): New. The team tries to track down a sex-addicted alien that is wreaking havoc on the nightlife of Cardiff.

Trading Spaces: Top Living Rooms (TLC): New Special. Get a load of some of the best and worst of the living room makeovers the show has done. Plays again later.

Other Options

  • Heavyweights (Food Network): New. Two episodes play. In the first, the battle between Hagen-Daz and Ben & Jerry’s for the ice cream consumer is profiled and in the second they take a look at Coke vs. Pepsi. Both play again later.
  • Highlander: The Source (Sci Fi): Premiere. Duncan MacLeod and a group of Immortals travel through time to search for clues to the source of their immortality. Runs two hours and plays again later.

Sports Notes

  • ABC has college football. See Prime Pick above for the primetime match-up.
  • CBS has college football with Tennessee (22) at Florida (5).
  • ESPN has four college football games with the second game being my Washington Huskies taking on the Ohio State Buckeyes (10) here at home.
  • ESPN2 has three college football games.
  • FOX has MLB action with FOX Saturday Baseball with most people seeing the New York Yankes at the Boston Red Sox.
  • FOX Sports will have college football games for your area.
  • NBC has third round coverage of The Tour Championship golf tournament.
  • Versus has two college football games.

Late Night

  • Burn Notice (USA): Repeat. Thursday’s episode, “False Flag,” replays with guest star Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess). Also replays earlier in the day.
  • It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FX): Repeats. The season premiere, “The Gang Finds a Dumpster Baby,” and another episode, “The Gang Gets Invincible,” from Thursday night replay.
  • MADtv (FOX): Season Premiere. Jerry Springer joins the gang for some fun.
  • Saturday Night Live (NBC): Repeat. Host Molly Shannon with musical guest Linkin Park. Season Premiere is September 29th with host LeBron James and musical guest Kanye West.
  • Talkshow With Spike Feresten (FOX): Season Premiere. It looks like Ryan Seacrest will be on the show along with some backstage surprises from the Emmy Awards.

TV Marathons

Disney Channel has 16 episodes of That’s So Raven.
HGTV has seven episodes of Design Star.
Spike has 15 hours of The Ultimate Fighter.
TNT in playing National Lampoon’s Vacation, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and Vegas Vacation today.
USA has six episodes of House tonight.
VH1 has 12 hours of America’s Next Top Model.
