Helping You Find the Prime in Primetime

Tonight on the Tube: Back to You, Private Practice, Bionic Woman & Dirty Sexy Money

by @ 5:50 am. Filed under Tonight on the Tube

Criminal Minds - Second Season on DVDABC has the series premieres of Private Practice and Dirty Sexy Money. CBS has the season premieres of Criminal Minds and CSI: NY. NBC has the time period premiere of Deal or No Deal and the series premieres of Bionic Woman and Life. Over on cable, Sci Fi has the season premiere of Ghost Hunters, BBC America has the season finale of Hotel Babylon and TBS has the season finale of Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.

The premiere episodes of Back to You and a few other FOX shows and the premiere episode of Gossip Girl on The CW are all available for download free at iTunes and Amazon Unbox .

Prime Picks

Back to You (FOX): New. Chuck is trying to prove his worth by taking care of a goldfish that someone gave him, while Gary has a shocking report on the use of stun guns.
‘Til Death (FOX): New. Eddie and Joy don’t get invited to an elderly neighbors funeral and feel left out.

Private Practice (ABC): Series Premiere. The Grey’s Anatomy spin-off with Addison heading out for a new job in California, but she doesn’t seem to be expected by her new co-workers. She must prove herself on her very first case. Runs 61 minutes.

Dirty Sexy Money (ABC): Series Premiere. Nick George’s father was the chief counsel for a wealthy and influential family until his mysterious death. The head of the family offers him the position his father had held and he reluctantly takes it.

Solid Selections

Deal or No Deal (NBC): Time Period Premiere. You can watch more random selection of cases in an attempt to win money. Dancing With the Stars, Kid Nation and America’s Next Top Model are the other possible selections tonight. Given the Prime Picks above in the same time period, there is no reason that Pushing Daises shouldn’t do well in this timeslot next week when it premieres, as Back to You is the only other show remotely worth watching.

Bionic Woman (NBC): Series Premiere. Really liked the potential this episode sets up, given all the storylines they cram into it. This show, more than any other, screamed out for a two-hour premiere to kick things off. Will definitely be tuning in next week to see where they begin to take things.

Life (NBC): Series Premiere. Really like the overall mystery they have set up and the conflicted storyline they gave the partner, but wasn’t sold on the main character. I know he spent 12 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, but he just comes off as a bit too strange in the first episode. I mean did he really only read one book on Zen the whole time he was in there. Of NBC’s four new shows, I liked this one the least, but it does have some potential. Will give it a couple more episodes to see what they do with it.

Cable Choices

Good Eats (Food Network): Repeats. Alton whips up some waffles in the first and pancakes in the second. Both play again later.

Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (TBS): Season Finale. Three new episodes play tonight to close out the season. Runs 90 minutes. The season premiere replays right after.

Tonight on the Tube: Bones, House, Cane, NCIS, Reaper, Eureka & Damages

by @ 5:58 am. Filed under Tonight on the Tube

House M.D. - Original SoundtrackABC has the first Dancing With the Stars: Results, which runs 90-minutes followed by the 90-minute season premiere of Boston Legal. CBS has the season premieres of NCIS and The Unit followed by the series premiere of Cane. The CW has the series premiere of Reaper. Fox has the season premieres of Bones and House. NBC has the season premiere of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. On cable, BBC America has the series premiere of Ultimate Force. It looks like a terrific Tuesday to me.

In other news, NBC has ordered up another season of The Biggest Loser to air at midseason.

Prime Picks

Bones (FOX): Season Premiere. The third season kicks off with the investigation into a skull that ends up in the windshield of a group of teenagers as they are driving down the highway.

House (FOX): Season Premiere. The fourth season begins with House having to work fast to save a girl that survived when the building she was in collapsed. Not having any underlings to actually do the work leaves him to discuss his theories with the janitor at one point.

Cane (CBS): Series Premiere. Jimmy Smits (The West Wing, NYPD Blue) as the new head of the family business, Duque Rum and Sugar, which doesn’t sit well with his brother. Drama, romance, intrigue, backstabbing and more ensue.

Solid Selections

NCIS (CBS): Season Premiere. NCIS is going up against the elusive arms dealer the director has been tracking for sometime.

Reaper (The CW): Series Premiere. The story of a slacker who has to start working for the Devil, capturing escaped souls, because his parents sold his soul to the devil years earlier and the deal takes effect on his 21st birthday. The “Pilot” episode was directed by Kevin Smith of Clerks fame.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (NBC): Season Premiere. Have seen some clips of this episode and Cynthia Nixon’s (Sex and the City) performance looks incredible. She plays a woman with multiple personalities that may have killed her daughter. Also, some changes are taking place in the unit.

Cable Choices

Lincoln Heights (ABC Family): New. It looks like Jenn’s parents are getting a divorce and Cassie wants to work at the coffee shop in exchange for some art lessons. Plays again later.

Eureka (Sci Fi): New. It looks like there is a germ that turns things into gold getting around and causing serious problems for the town and Sheriff Carter. Plays again later. The “God is in the Details” episode from a couple of weeks ago replays right before.

Damages (FX): New. Gregory’s disappearance becomes a deeper problem. A secret weapon is being brought in to help Frobisher as his deposition gets closer. Ellen finds some information about the case. Runs 62 minutes and plays twice and then again later.

Any Stargate Atlantis, Jewel Staite or Amanda Tapping Fans Out There?

by @ 5:53 am. Filed under Interviews, TV Talk

Tomorrow, September 26th, the TVaholic along with others has been invited to participate in a conference call with Amanda Tapping and Jewel Staite of Stargate Atlantis. So, what I would like to know is, if there are any questions you would like to ask them about their characters, the show, the new season that begins on Friday, September 28th, previous shows they have been, or previous roles they have played?

If you do, feel free to leave them in the comments or use the form on the Contact Info page to send them via email. We will try and get them answered.
