Welcome to the first ever TVaholic Giveaway. Our friends at Showtime have provided some great prizes to giveaway to the readers of TVaholic. So, we put them together to create a couple of prize packs.
What Are the Prizes?
- The first lucky winner will receive Dexter Season One on DVD, the Dexter Soundtrack and an “I (Heart) Dexter” bumper sticker. (Pictured)
- The second winner will receive Dexter Season One on DVD.

If you haven’t gotten a chance to watch Dexter, one of the best shows on TV and a favorite of the TVaholic, then let us know why you would like to get your hands on this truly terrific TV show.
What Are the Rules?
- Limit one entry per person. Subsequent entries will be disqualified. Must be 18 and a legal resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. Must include a valid email address, so we can contact you, if your comment is the winner. Odds of winning depend on number of legitimate entries. The use of automated devices to enter the giveaway is prohibited. There is no responsibility assumed by TVaholic for lost or late entries, or any computer, online telephone, or technical malfunctions that may occur.
- Each comment is numbered and time stamped. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. PT, Sunday, November 4th. Two numbers will be drawn at random using the random integer generator at Random.org and the corresponding comments will be selected as the winners.
- Winners have five days to respond after being notified. Once winners have responded with a U.S. shipping address to claim their prize, the winners name and state will be added to this post. Dexter is such a magnetic, compelling, exciting show! Every single character, not just Michael C. Hall’s Dexter, is complex and interesting to watch. You feel moved and intrigued by each character’s growth - La Guerta, Deb, Doakes, Lundy, Rita - and especially Lily. I wait with delicious anticipation every Sunday to watch Dexter - it is so much more than your average serial killer show!!!

I love Dexter because of its moral complexity. I never thought I’d find myself rooting for a serial killer,
but I totally am! And so far, the storylines are so good, not obvious like many shows out there but well-
thought out so by the time the season ends you feel that the story is complete, versus just a bunch of episodes.

Dexter is such a multi-layered character that the character doesn’t even understand himself. It’s really fascinating to watch him peel back the layers.

Why I Love Dexter? where to start i guess with the irony in the show a forensic’s officer whos also a serial killer whos bother just happened to be one also DRAMA!!!! not to mention all the characters are great. the storie lines are just crazy the writer and directors both should have some shinny hardware in there office and last but not least. the fact that DEXTER is able to live is virtually like a shadow, everyone see’s him but nobody truely see’s him.

Why I like Dexter? It’s simple in that he’s complex. He is a serial killer that you can’t help but like. He has a keen sense on human tendencies yet he is unable to be a normal human….and he struggles with this everyday.

Dexter is an anti-anti-hero, which works for me. Anti-heroes like Tony Soprano do evil for evil’s sake, but Dexter does evil for good’s sake. Not that the cops would care…

Nothing like it has been done before.

We all have dark moments where we see a scumbag child rapist on the news and wish news and wish something bad would happen to them.
Dexter acts on those impulses. In a way he has a sense of

Dexter as a comic book hero called The Dark Defender.
I think that suits him. He doesn’t prey on children or the weak.
He speeds up the karmic reward of criminals who deserve it.
That’s why we root for him.

I like how it’s so much more than just about a serial killer, and in Dexter’s world, he’s not even the worse “monster” out there. And that’s all thanks to the intelligent writing and excellent acting.

Ah, Dexter. I was a huge fan of Six Feet Under, but was drawn to the premise of Dexter before I even knew that M.C. Hall was the lead actor. What kept me watching was the core question that Dexter forces us to ask ourselves, namely, is there anything in this world that is purely bad or evil, in any context? Harry manipulated Dexter’s uncontrollable impulses into something good; without Harry’s guidance, Dex would have undoutedly become another thoughless killer. If Dexter sticks to “the code” he can’t possibly harm an innocent person. So instead of following one extreme and harming innocent people, he adopts the polar opposite and protects them from others who have lost their way. The realization that all this leads to is that *anyone*, no matter what hand they’ve been dealt in life, can use their abilities (”good” or “bad”) to help people, or to hurt them. And when the day is through, we all know what our true intentions are; it’s pretty easy to lie to others, but it’s pretty hard to lie to yourself. Kudos to Jeff Lindsay and the production team behind the -only- current show that makes me anticipate the next episode with such a fever.

For me, Dexter is all about the juxtaposition. A seemingly emotionless killer spends the episodes narrating his feelings. Dark humor is accompanied by a cheery, latin-influenced score.
That, and Michael C. Hall’s grin. The Cheshire Cat has nothing on Hall for creepy smiles.

Well, Dexter is a very Intriguing. I think this becuase of how suspensefull it is, it just makes
me want to watch the next episode more and more. The way Dexter just kills those people, no emotions
no feelings, its just so wierd, in a good way of course. I find Dexter addicting, like drugs are
for drug addicts…i cant seem to get enough!!.
Anywho, i absolutly LOVEEEE the show more then any other shows out there, and i dont care if i win
the prizes, as long as everyone knows how good Dexter iss. The prozes are simply just a bonus to
writing this comment.
