Tonight, on the networks, ABC has Carpoolers back on the schedule, CBS has The 34th Annual People’s Choice Awards, The CW has the season premiere of One Tree Hill, and MyNet has the series premiere of Street Patrol. Over on cable, MTV has the season premieres of Life of Ryan and Rob & Big.

One Tree Hill (The CW): Season Premiere. It has been “4 Years, 6 Months, 2 Days” since season four ended. The story picks up with Lucas a struggling author about to become the new Tree Hill High basketball coach, Peyton’s career in the music industry not all that she had dreamed, Brooke’s fashion company has become something and Nathan and Haley are young parents. Good Eats (Food Network): Repeats. Alton bakes up some bread and then makes sandwiches for the kids. Both episodes play again later.

Dirty Jobs (Discovery Channel): New. Mike works at a famous BBQ place and a large animal vet. Plays again later.

The Office (TBS): Repeats. In the first of two episodes, Dwight takes Ryan on his first sales call and Ryan gets more than he bargained for. In the second, Michael wants everyone in the office to support Kelly at a local Hindu festival.
