Prime Picks

The Return of Jezebel James (FOX): Series Premiere. The “Pilot” episode and the second episode, “Frankenstein Baby,” play to kickoff the series. The series stars Parker Posey (Superman Returns, Boston Legal) and Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) as estranged sisters. The older of the two finds that she is not able to have a baby and decides to ask her younger sister to carry the baby for her. It is from Amy Sherman-Palladino, who gave us the wonderful characters of Stars Hollow on Gilmore Girls. This has the cast and behind-the-scene people to be a big success, but a Friday night timeslot doesn’t show a lot of support from FOX. I mean, where is this show’s post-American Idol push? Anyway, I hope it is as good as it sounds.

House (FOX): Repeat. House is trying not to let on about how much pain he is in, while they try and treat a kid that thinks he is being attacked by aliens in “Cain & Able” from season three.

Numb3rs (CBS): Repeat. Charlie has become the target of intimidation after it is found that he is working on a case of a missing journalist.

Solid Selections

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): Repeat. “Crash Into Me, Part 2” replays, where Meredith is working to save one of the paramedics from the ambulance crash.

20/20 (ABC): New. Two episodes play tonight. In the first, medical mysteries are profiled and the seconds takes a look at sex in America.

Cable Choices

Jericho (Sci Fi): Repeats. Four episodes from season one replay. First up is episode eight, “Rogue River,” where Jake and Eric meet up with Ravenwood for the first time while trying to get medical supplies from a neighboring town. Next up is episode nine, “Crossroads,” where the town starts putting together a plan to keep those that would do them harm out. Then it is episode 10, “Red Flag,” where bombers drop food supplies. Lastly tonight is episode 11, “Vox Populi,” where Gray is putting together an unauthorized manhunt to track down a known bad guy. The next four episodes play next Friday.

Other Options

  • Friends (TBS): Repeats. First up is “The One With the Fake Party,” where Rachel has a party for Emily so she can invite Joshua to it. Then, it is “The One With the Free Porn,” where Ross wants to let Emily know how he feels about her, as she is about to leave.
  • Monk (USA): Repeat. In “Mr. Monk and the Bad Girlfriend,” Monk thinks that the captain’s girlfriend may be behind a murder.
  • What Not to Wear (TLC): New. A mother of three that dresses in a very mannish manner gets made over. Plays again later.
