News & Notes

Download Battlestar Galactica Episodes at Amazon UnboxTonight, FOX has the season finale of Canterbury’s Law.

Over on cable, Lifetime has the season finale of Your Mama Don’t Dance and Sci Fi has the season premiere of Doctor Who.

In returning show news, ABC will have new episodes of Moonlight beginning next week.

Prime Picks

House (FOX): Repeat. The “Son of Coma Guy” episode with guest star John Larroquette from season three replays. This was a great episode.

Moonlight (CBS): Repeat. The last pre-strike episode, “The Mortal Cure,” replays to get you ready for the return of new episodes next week.

Numb3rs (CBS): Repeat. Things get a bit “Graphic” when a rare comic book disappears during a deadly robbery.

Solid Selections

Desperate Housewives (ABC): Repeat. Sunday’s episode replays, where Katherine is finding it hard keeping her secret from her daughter. Gaby finally finds out the truth about Carlos and his condition.

Canterbury’s Law (FOX): Season Finale. Elizabeth is trying to keep from defending an admitted rapist, while Molly gets her bar exam results. This is most likely the last episode of this series, as the ratings have been pretty terrible.

20/20 (ABC): New. Usually this is just a tepid recommendation for something to pass the time if you aren’t into Prime Pick in this time period, but tonight is actually one I will probably watch, or at least record. I like when John Stossel does reports like tonight’s “Your Weather: Myths, Lies and Downright Stupidity.”

Cable Choices

The Sarah Jane Adventures (Sci Fi): New. An evil alien race known as the Slitheen have taken the place of teachers at a school as part of their deadly plan that puts the future of the Earth in danger. This is part one of two and runs 30 minutes. Part two plays next week.
Doctor Who (Sci Fi): Season Premiere. The Doctor ends up trying to save the passengers on a ship called the Titanic. Runs 90 minutes and plays again later.

Battlestar Galactica (Sci Fi): New. Starbuck is on a mission to find Earth. Meanwhile, political intrigue abounds on both Galactica and within Cylon society. Plays again later. The episode can also be seen via streaming video at SciFi.com from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern. Watch a clip from tonight’s episode below. (RSS and eMail Subscribers may need to click to the site to view the video) Update 4.25.2008: Sci Fi has granted TVaholic the right to use the weekly Battlestar Galactica preview clips only until the next week’s episode airs, which is why this clip no longer appears here.

Other Options

  • What Not to Wear (TLC): New. A Las Vegas environmentalist gets a makeover to match her message. Plays again later.

Sports Notes

  • ESPN2 has Friday Night Fights with a heavyweight bout scheduled for 10 rounds.
  • Golf Channel has LPGA action with round two of the Ginn Open.
  • Versus has NHL playoff action.

Late Night

  • Dirt (FX): Repeat. The season two finale, “In Lieu of Flowers …,” replays.

TV Marathons

Bravo has seven episodes of The Real Housewives of New York.
