News & Notes

Download MADtv Episodes at Amazon UnboxOn cable tonight, BBC America has the second season finale of Torchwood and TLC has the eighth season finale of Trading Spaces.

Prime Picks

Cold Case (CBS): Repeat. A link between two murders that happened at the exact same time is being looked for, as Miller re-opens a case that keeps her up at night trying to find a connection, in this episode from season four.

48 Hours Mystery (CBS): Repeat. The story of a teenager that dreamt he killed a man. A new episode follows about a aspiring network anchor that commits murder.

Law & Order (NBC): New. An art dealer has been stoned to death and the detectives think that it may be connected to art at her gallery, in this episode from earlier this season.

Solid Selections

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (ABC): Released 2004. Three commercially interrupted hours of Harry and his pals going up against Sirius Black.

Cable Choices

Deep Fried Treats Unwrapped (Food Network): Repeat. See how Krispy Kreme donuts, Fritos, and other favorites are made. Plays again later.

Torchwood (BBC America): Season Finale. For more about tonight’s season two finale, check out a review of the episode or read an interview with Naoko Mori, who plays Toshiko over at Daemon’s TV. Next week is the second season premiere of Robin Hood in this timeslot.

Saturday Night Live (E!): Repeat. A Justin Timberlake hosted episode replays, which have been some of the better ones in recent years.

Other Options

  • Trading Spaces (TLC): Season Finale. A stay-at-home mom trades spaces with a working mom. Plays again later.

Sports Notes

  • ABC has NBA playoff action with the Phoenix Suns at the San Antonio Spurs, which has all the makings of one of the better first round match-ups.
  • CBS has LPGA action with third round coverage of the Ginn Open.
  • ESPN has NBA Playoff action with the Washington Wizards at the Cleveland Cavaliers, which is the first game of the day and then later the Dallas Mavericks at the New Orleans Hornets followed by the Utah Jazz at the Houston Rockets. That is a quadrupleheader between these games and the one on ABC.
  • FOX has MLB action with FOX Saturday Baseball.
  • NBC has NHL playoff action.
  • Versus has NHL playoff action.

Late Night

  • MADtv (FOX): New. Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) guest stars and The Moment of Truth gets parodied, which actually sounds redundant.
  • Saturday Night Live (NBC): Repeat. Amy Adams was the host with musical guest Vampire Weekend.
  • Talkshow With Spike Feresten (FOX): New. James Kyson Lee (Heroes) is his guest.

TV Marathons

BET has 20 episodes of Malcolm & Eddie.

Comedy Central has 10 episodes of Scrubs.
MTV has 12 episodes of America’s Next Top Model.
TruTV has five episodes of The Investigators.
