News & Notes

MI-5 - Volume 4 on DVDTonight, ABC has the first of the last three episodes of Men in Trees, FOX has the Wednesday edition premiere of So You Think You Can Dance and NBC has the NHL Stanley Cup Finals.

Over on cable, Discovery Channel has the series premiere of Factory Made and History Channel has the second season premiere of Monsterquest.

In cancelled show news, it was rumored that FOX’s Back to You had a shot of landing over at CBS, but with news of Kelsey Grammer taking a role on a new comedy pilot for ABC, it doesn’t sound likely. Still can’t believe that FOX renewed ‘Til Death and cancelled this.

Prime Picks

The Price Is Right Million Dollar Spectacular (ABC): Repeat. Players try to win prizes leading to a shot at a million bucks.

Criminal Minds (CBS): Repeat. The team learns that the unsubs are transporting the bodies deep into the woods as some sort of sport, in “Open Season” from season two.

Men in Trees (ABC): New. Marin is trying to help Jack prepare for his first lecture as a professor. There are two more episodes after tonight and the last one is supposed to end with some kind of closure for the series. Really too bad that ABC cancelled this, but at least they are burning off the remaining episodes for us fans to watch.

Solid Selections

So You Think You Can Dance (FOX): Wednesday Premiere. More from the auditions, as dancers try to impress the judges. Runs two hours.

CSI: NY (CBS): Repeat. Someone is selling killer pranks, in “Child’s Play” from this past season.

Cable Choices

Good Eats (Food Network): Repeat. Alton is skewering some shrimp and pineapple and cooking up some Caribbean chicken. Plays again later.
Throwdown With Bobby Flay (Food Network): Repeat. Bobby throws down with a burger battle. Plays again later.

MI-5 (BBC America): New. The team is on the hunt for a bomb maker, but must first find a traitor in their midst. Plays again later.

Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (TBS): Repeats. The second two of four repeat episodes replay tonight in this timeslot.

  • NBC has NHL playoff action with the Detroit Red Wings at the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

TV Marathons

A&E has five episodes of CSI: Miami tonight.
Bravo has 11 episodes of Top Chef.
Oxygen has 18 episodes of Roseanne.
Sci Fi has seven episodes of Ghost Hunters.

I just LOVE the way ABC has promoted the return of Men in Trees. *sigh* Very indicitive (spelling? too tired to look it up. lol) of their support of the show. :(

Jenny, They never did much to help people find the show before they cancelled it, so wouldn’t expect them to start now. It is definitely “indicative.” (Google Toolbar Spellcheck is very handy)
