Tonight, CBS has Flashpoint going on hiatus after tonight and The CW has the eighth season premiere of Smallville followed by the fourth season premiere of Supernatural.
Over on cable, Discovery has Smash Lab going on hiatus after tonight, FX has the fourth season premiere of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and USA has the second summer season finale of Burn Notice.
Prime Picks
Smallville (The CW): Season Premiere. Members of the Justice League are searching for Clark. Chloe has been captured and is being held in a remote Montana facility. Read review and check out some photos from the episode.
Supernatural (The CW): Season Premiere. Dean is back from one hell of a trip, but wants to know how it happened. Read review and check out some photos from the episode.
Flashpoint (CBS): New. Jules has her negotiating skills tested when the team is called in on a kidnapping, but it turns out there are two victims and not just one. This is the ninth of the 13 episodes shot to air on CBS. At this time, I don’t know when the rest of the episodes will play.
Solid Selections
America’s Got Talent (NBC): New. The Top 10 try and when support.
My Name Is Earl (NBC): Repeat. Earl has to choose between Billie and the list, in last season’s finale episode, “Camdenites, Part 2.” Season four premieres next week.
Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): Repeat. Meredith take one last shot at their clinical trial, a boy needs to be removed from a block of cement and Izzie is helping Alex with Rebecca, in last season’s two hour finale episode, “Freedom.” Season five premieres next week.
Cable Choices
Friends (TBS): Repeats. It is “The One Where Ross Is Fine” and then “The One With Ross’s Tan.”
American Chopper (TLC): New. Paulie sets out to create a new look for a classic chopper. Plays again later.
Burn Notice (USA): Summer Finale. A client is being forced into a kidnapping scheme and Michael tries to help, while also possibly finding some key information about the people who had him burned. Plays again later.
Other Options
- Ace of Cakes (Food Network): New. A cake with frogs and a replica of the Lincoln Memorial are made. A repeat episode follows. Both play again later.
- CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (CBS): Repeats. Two episodes from last season replays. First is “The Theory of Everything and then “Two and a Half Deaths,” which was written by the writers from Two and a Half Men.
- It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FX): Season Premiere. Two episodes play tonight. The first one has Mac and Dennis on a manhunt and Dee and Charlie feeling a bit cannibalistic. In the second one, the figure out how to make some money of gas prices and also realize what the group’s true dynamic is. Both episodes play again later. Read review.
- The Office (NBC): Repeat. Jim and Pam get roped in to having dinner at Michael’s place, in last season’s finale episode, “Goodbye, Toby.” Season five premieres next week.
