The Simpsons (FOX): New. The family takes a vacation to a cabin in the woods where Homer and Marge reminisce about when they were first married.
King of the Hill (FOX): New. Bobby ends up being classified as special and gets put in a class that doesn’t require him to do any homework or take tests.

Desperate Housewives (ABC): New. Mrs. McCluskey’s sister finds out some info on Dave. Katherine’s secret becomes known. Susan finds out what Jackson really likes. Runs 61 minutes.

Brothers & Sisters (ABC): New. It’s Julia and Tommy’s anniversary. Something gets Justin and Rebecca spooked about their relationship. Kitty hurts her chance at adopting a baby.

Solid Selections

The Amazing Race (CBS): New. One team has to deal with a detour and a stringent shopkeeper.

Cold Case (CBS): New. A retired cop that worked on the case of a murdered 12-year-old is brought new info on the case and he brings it to the squad.

The Unit (CBS): New. This is the first of a two-part episode that concludes next week. I got a chance to watch them both and if you like this show, as I do, then you will really like these episodes. Everything that makes this show good is ratcheted up a bit when Jonas’ daughter is captured in Iraq and the team goes in search of her. Also, Col. Ryan has to face the consequences of his affair with Mack’s wife.

Cable Choices

Brotherhood (Showtime): New. Tommy uses some strong-arm tactics to get the mayor’s support. Rose finds out more about her illness.

Dexter (Showtime): New. Dexter and Miguel don’t see eye to eye on who the next victim should be. Rita learns that Miguel’s wife suspects something about him. Plays again later.

Entourage (HBO): New. Eric has to deal with the studio wanting to cast Seth Green in Charlie’s pilot. Vince is told to get his act together. Ari gets Lloyd to help give his friend a makeover before meeting with Barbara. Runs 30 minutes.

Other Options

  • Californication (Showtime): New. Hank is attracted to Becca’s teacher and Charlie finds out that Marcy has been hiding something from him. This episodes has a couple of nice twists that you may see coming, but are still pretty good. Plays twice.
  • Chef Jeff Project (Food Network): New. The crew has to cater a meal for Cirque Du Soleil. Plays again later.
  • Food Network Challenge (Food Network): New. Three of the best Italian chefs have to put a few twists on their family favorites to win the prize. Plays again later.
  • Skins (BBC America): New. Chris gets a job after being kicked out of school. Tony tries to get things back to normal. Plays again later.

  • ABC has NASCAR racing with the Sprint Cup: Checker O’Reilly Auto Parts 500.
  • CBS has NFL action.
