My favorite memory of the Mr. Belvedere show is that wonderful theme song by Leon Redbone. It kind of stuck in my head for years. I was finally able to track it down on Napster some years ago. (Oh, should I have admitted that?)
Three things stick into my mind. 1. It was the start of TGIF, a bit hit for ABC for over a decade. 2. That theme song; it’s on my Ipod and I love singing it. 3. Just the look of Mr. Belvedere. He reminded me of my father. He wore the same sweater jackets my father did.
I loved that show when I was a kid. :)
My favorite memory of Mr Belvedere is from the Amish episode. Kevin and the Amish girl fall in the hay and Kevin asks the girl what they call this stuff (meaning well to put it plainly crap). There is no audible response but then Kevin says something like “yeah we call it that too”.
i love his dry “british” sense of humor thanks for the giveaway
I loved his British accent.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I loved the first episode when George didn’t want to hire Belvedere.
I loved whenever food was involved, whenever he cooked!
I also loved when Heather’s best friend, Angela, would get Mr. Belvedere’s name wrong and call him stuff like Mr. Bellpepper :)
Mostly I remember Bob Uecker…. I always thought he was funny!
I don’t remember a specific episode but I do remember that I would stay home and watch that whole lineup of shows then. Back then when tv was good and we did not have much choice on what was on. :)
I loved this show…. Love how he wrote a note at the end of every show abour the family….
I don’t remember any specific shows but he was the best “butler” since Benson and Mr. French!!
I like that he did some very “unexpected” things in each show.
i barely remember this show, but i do remember watching it whenever it was on. i liked that this show wasn’t as corny as the other sitcoms of the time. i can’t remember any specific instances on the show, but i would like to watch this dvd :)
it was a show i used to watch with my grandfather what a time we had
The theme song of course (gotta love Leon Redbone)and Bob Uecker. Bob was truly one of the most underrated actors/comedians…
This giveaway is now closed. Thanks to the 17 people above that entered. I will be selecting the winner and notifying them later today.
