Tonight, ABC will be putting Ugly Betty on hiatus for a few weeks, so Samantha Who? and new comedy In the Motherhood can takeover the time slot for a few weeks. Today and tonight, CBS has coverage of the NCAA Basketball Championship tournament.
Over on cable, MTV has the series premiere of Taking the Stage.
I will be on TV Talk with Shaun OMac today at about 4:00 p.m. PT, give or take a few minutes, along with Amrie from Seat42f, among other places. The show starts at 3:00 p.m. PT and runs two hours. Kate O’Hare of Hot Cuppa TV is usually on in the first hour. You can listen live or later or download on iTunes.

Private Practice (ABC): New. Violet tries to get a psych patient that is pregnant to have a surgery that is needed. Dell’s ex may be moving for a job opportunity. Starts two minutes after the hour and runs 58 minutes.
Smallville (The CW): New. Tess is trying to get Clark to reveal his powers to her by creating a problem for him to overcome. Davis may have found a way to keep the beast at bay.
The Office (NBC): New. Michael is putting together plans for his 15th anniversary at Dunder Mifflin. Jim doesn’t get the result he expected from a prank on Dwight. Runs 31 minutes.
30 Rock (NBC): New. Liz learns that Drew’s charm gets him quite a bit that others don’t. Jack is trying to get Tracy to stay on the show after his contract expires. Starts a minute after the half hour and runs 29 minutes.
ER (NBC): New. Brenner realizes something about his past. It is Neela’s last day at the hospital and she spends it disagreeing with Dr. Dubenko about two surgical cases.
Good Eats (Food Network): Repeats. Alton fries a turkey and cooks some calamari. Both episodes play again later.
Iron Chef America (Food Network): Repeat. Sunday’s episode with chef David Kinch taking on Iron Chef Bobby Flay replays. Plays again later.
Being Erica (SOAPnet): New. Erica gets a second shot to prove herself as a woman during her Bat Mitzvah. Plays again later and again on Saturday afternoon and two more times late night Saturday and Sunday.
- Ace of Cakes (Food Network): New. Duff and the gang are making cookie related cakes. A repeat episode follows. Both play again later.
- The Beast (A&E): New. Barker and Ellis get into a high stakes poker game in search of an assassin. Plays twice and again later twice.
- Supernatural (The CW): New. Castiel and Uriel want Dean to use skills he learned in hell to get information from Alastair.
- CBS has coverage of the NCAA Basketball Championship tournament most of the day.
- ESPN has a World Baseball Classic game.
