News & Notes

Get NCIS Episodes via Amazon Video On DemandTonight, ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC all will carry the Presidential Press Conference news special. CBS has NCIS and The Mentalist and NBC has The Biggest Loser all playing an hour later than normal. ABC has the season finale of Primetime: What Would You Do?.

FOX’s American Idol competition and results shows have each been pushed back a day.

Over on cable, BET has the sixth season finale of College Hill, Discovery Health has the second season finale of Deliver Me, and Oxygen has the third season finale of The Bad Girls Club.

On this week’s TV times Three podcast, you can listen to episode 21, “Crying Over Spilt Previews,” where we talked network promos spoiling the next episode. We also touched on some recent TV news items. Lastly, we recapped the previous week in primetime by talking about The Amazing Race, The Mentalist, Better Off Ted, Life, Lost, and Party Down. Presidential Press Conference (ABC, CBS, FOX & NBC): News Special. President Obama answers questions from the press. Starts at 8:00 p.m. ET and is scheduled to run an hour.

NCIS (CBS): New. A boy finds a murder weapon and it puts the family under suspicion and the team has to investigate.

The Mentalist (CBS): New. There has been a series of murders at the retreat facilities of a financial company and the CBI and Jane are called in to investigate.

Solid Selections

Reaper (The CW): New. Sam and the devil’s other son meet.

House (FOX): Repeat. In “The Itch” from earlier this season, the team tries to treat a patient that refuses to leave his home.

Primetime: What Would You Do? (ABC): Season Finale. Racial profiling in retail stores, online dating, how long will people follow a person of authority. Starts two minutes after the hour and runs 58 minutes.

Cable Choices

Good Eats (Food Network): Repeats. Alton starts “Going Bananas,” but everything turns out to be “Peachy Keen.” Both episodes play again later.

Food Detectives (Food Network): New. Food myths are tested. Plays again later.
Ace of Cakes (Food Network): Repeat. Duff and the gang make cookie cakes. Plays again later.

The Office (TBS): Repeats. The season four premiere episodes “Fun Run, Part 1 & 2” replay, where Michael puts together a 5K run for charity.

Other Option

  • Chopped (Food Network): New. Four contestants compete by cooking up something tasty from a basket full of surprise ingredients. This episode includes working with apples, shrimp, and pepperoni. Plays again later.

  • ESPN has NIT college basketball action.
  • ESPN2 has Women’s NCAA Basketball Championship tournament action.
  • TNT has NBA doubleheader action with Detroit Pistons at the Chicago Bulls followed by the Houston Rockets at the Utah Jazz.

  • Roommates (ABC Family): Repeat. Last night’s series premiere episode, “The Roommate,” replays.
