Cable Choices
Food Network Challenge: Last Cake Standing (Food Network): Season Finale. The remaining three contestants compete in a “Sweet 16” cake building competition for a set of sextuplets. Plays again later.
Law & Order: Criminal Intent (USA): New. Det. Nichols, played by Jeff Goldblum (Raines), partners up with Det. Wheeler after the departure of Det. Logan last season. They are working what appears to be a stabbing and robbery. Plays again later. Really liked Goldblum in this role. I think it suits him well and lets him do what he does best. The opening sequence is a great introduction to the character. He brings similar quality to the show as D’Onofrio’s Det. Goren, but yet is different.
In Plain Sight (USA): New. A pot grower testifying against his former partners has an anxiety disorder that only seems to be relieved when he is high on his own product. Plays again later. This is another great episode. Mary being followed around while doing her job to see if she is ready to be released back to full active duty is really fun to watch. It brings some resolution to the events that season one ended with and puts the show in a good place to move forward telling stories in season two.
Other Options
- Breaking Bad (AMC): New. Walt and Jesse get advice from a less than upstanding attorney. Plays twice and again later.
- Iron Chef America (Food Network): New. Chef Koren Grieveson challenges Iron Chef Cat Cora. Plays again later.
