Prime Picks

The Simpsons (FOX): New. Homer tries to make sure that Bart and Lisa are going to succeed by keeping a close eye on them. Marge can’t stay out of the sauna.
Sit Down, Shut Up (FOX): New. Teachers get flowers that may not be flowers. The spring fundraiser may be in trouble.

Desperate Housewives (ABC): New. Carlos sees a bit more of Lynette than he should have. Susan reveals a secret to Dave. Katherine confesses something to Mike. Runs 61 minutes.

Brothers & Sisters (ABC): New. Julia has decided on what she is going to do now that Tommy isn’t coming back. Robert sees Kitty in the park. Sarah and Holly are trying to get along somehow. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 59 minutes.

Solid Selection

The Amazing Race (CBS): New. The teams must compete in an Olympic swimming challenge in China.

Cold Case (CBS): New. While an old pool hall is being renovated, the potential murder weapon in a 1963 case is found. With this new direction the squad investigates the death of a pool hustler from back then.

Cable Choices

Food Network Challenge: Last Cake Standing (Food Network): Season Finale. The remaining three contestants compete in a “Sweet 16” cake building competition for a set of sextuplets. Plays again later.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent (USA): New. Det. Nichols, played by Jeff Goldblum (Raines), partners up with Det. Wheeler after the departure of Det. Logan last season. They are working what appears to be a stabbing and robbery. Plays again later. Really liked Goldblum in this role. I think it suits him well and lets him do what he does best. The opening sequence is a great introduction to the character. He brings similar quality to the show as D’Onofrio’s Det. Goren, but yet is different.

In Plain Sight (USA): New. A pot grower testifying against his former partners has an anxiety disorder that only seems to be relieved when he is high on his own product. Plays again later. This is another great episode. Mary being followed around while doing her job to see if she is ready to be released back to full active duty is really fun to watch. It brings some resolution to the events that season one ended with and puts the show in a good place to move forward telling stories in season two.

Other Options

  • Breaking Bad (AMC): New. Walt and Jesse get advice from a less than upstanding attorney. Plays twice and again later.
  • Iron Chef America (Food Network): New. Chef Koren Grieveson challenges Iron Chef Cat Cora. Plays again later.

  • The Tudors (Showtime): New. The Pilgrimage of Grace leaders are executed. Henry celebrates his son being born. Plays again later.
