Prime Picks

Reaper (The CW): Season/Series Finale. Andi and Sam are looking for Tony in hopes that he can help decipher a scroll brought back from hell by Nina. The CW has cancelled this show.

Mental (FOX): Series Premiere. A doctor takes his new position as head of the psychiatric department of a Los Angeles hospital, but has an approach that is different from what everyone expects. I haven’t seen this one yet, but have heard from others that have that it isn’t very good. If so, it’s too bad, cause we can use all the scripted shows we can get over the summer.

Without a Trace (CBS): Repeat. In “Live to Regret” from this past season, Jack gets reinstated as the head of the team. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 59 minutes.

Solid Selections

TV’s 50 Funniest Phrases (NBC): New Special. Check out the countdown of TV catchphrases. Runs two hours.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (NBC): Repeat. In this past season’s premiere episode, “Trial,” has a rape case getting reopened after an abused foster child is found driving a runaway van.

Cable Choices

Good Eats (Food Network): Repeats. Alton makes Buffalo wings and then pork tenderloin. Both episodes play again later.

Dear Food Network (Food Network): New. Alton does some “Grilling: All American,” where he goes door-to-door in Florida helping people with their grilling questions. Plays again later.

The Office (TBS): Repeat. “Job Fair” replays, where Michael goes to Pam’s alma mater looking to hire a summer intern. “Phyllis’ Wedding” replays right after My Boys.
My Boys (TBS): Season Finale. Everyone goes to Arizona for Spring Training and P.J. is looking for something unique to write about. Runs 31 minutes. Plays again late night tomorrow and Friday.

Other Options

  • Diamonds (ABC): Part two. The story of a ruthless businessman, U.S. Senator, a model and an orphan and how the African diamond trade affects their lives continues. Runs two hours.
