Prime Picks
The New Adventures of Old Christine (CBS): New. Christine and Richard can’t believe how much their college friends seemed to have aged.
Gary Unmarried (CBS): New. Gary is threatened by Allison’s new boyfriend when he offers to take his son to New York for his birthday.
Glee (FOX): New. Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies guest stars as a former classmate of Will, who he brings in to give the glee club some edge. Can’t wait to see this episode. Love Kristin Chenoweth.
CSI: NY (CBS): New. A cyberkiller is targeting those that work in the healthcare field and the team sets out to catch the perpetrator.
Solid Selections
Hank (ABC): Series Premiere. Kelsey Grammer as an entrepreneur that made it big, but has fallen on hard times and has to downsize, which includes moving to a small town from the big city. This show isn’t really a Solid Selection, it’s actually pretty bad. It’s not Brothers bad, but it is darn close. It’s paint by number comedy, as everything you see here has been done before and significantly better. Mostly, I’d suggest just skipping this all together.
The Middle (ABC): Series Premiere. The story of a family in the Midwest. It has kind of a Malcolm in the Middle feel to me and had plenty of funny moments. The one involving the youngest son and…well that is enough about that. To me it’s a toss up between it and Gary Unmarried. Although, if you’re looking for a comedy that the whole family can watch together, this would be the one to go with.
Modern Family (ABC): New. Phil wants Luke to prove he can be responsible enough for a new bike, so he sets out to help him do so.
Cougar Town (ABC): New. Jules ends up looking silly when she tries to keep up with the twentysomethings against the advice of her best friend.
Eastwick (ABC): New. Roxie is attempting to protect Mia. Kat may be ending her marriage. Joanna and Penny want to know who Darryl Van Horne really is.
Other Options
- Criminal Minds (CBS): New. A man knocks off a bunch of people at a pharmacy and the team sets out to find him before he can hurt anyone else. It is being reported today that CBS is eyeing a possible spinoff to this series that would revolve around another team of FBI agents that would be introduced in an episode towards the end of the season.
- Throwdown With Bobby Flay (Food Network): New. Bobby competes in a “Lobster Club Sandwich” battle. A repeat episode follows. Both play again later.
