Prime Picks

FlashForward (ABC): New. Demetri and Mark are off to Utah on the trail of a man that may be connected to the worldwide blackout. Olivia meets the man that she saw in her dream. Have so been looking forward to this episode, especially since I saw last week’s episode a few weeks ago. So, it has been a bit of a wait for my favorite new show of the fall.

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): New. Izzie is back at work. The residents are jockeying for position with the coming merger. Cristina attempts working with Arizona in the pediatric ward. Runs 61 minutes.

Private Practice (ABC): Season Premiere. Violet’s life is in danger and her baby missing, leaving everyone in shock. But, Addison attempts to save her life. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 59 minutes. Going forward, The Mentalist will probably end up as my Prime Pick for this timeslot, but this is the best episode of this series they’ve ever done. The story quite moving and is told well and in an interesting way. The acting is great. We’ll see where they go from here, but this is truly a great start to the third season.

Solid Selections

Bones (FOX): New. The team investigates after human remains are found near some railroad tracks. Cam is having trouble being a new parent and Booth tries to help her out.

Fringe (FOX): New. After a bomb goes off in a train station, the team tries to figure out what happened, but there doesn’t seem to be any trace of the explosive device used.

The Mentalist (CBS): New. An intern of a state senator is murdered and Jane and the team are on the case. Jane also continues his quest to find out what is happening in the Red John case.

Other Options

  • Ace of Cakes (Food Network): New. A repeat episode follows. Both play again later.
  • Community (NBC): New. Jeff doesn’t get what he expected after signing up for a class he thinks will be an easy A. Runs 30 minutes.

  • Parks and Recreation (NBC): New. Leslie finds herself in disagreement with the other judges of the Miss Pawnee Pageant. Runs 30 minutes. Still don’t think this show is funny, but I like Amy Poehler. So, will continue to hope that I will at some point, but not for much longer.
  • Skins (BBC America): New. Katie can’t bring herself to leave the house after the incident in the woods. Plays again later.

If last night’s episode of The Mentalist was the best ever, I will never watch that show again. The acting is good but that plot could have been written by a 5 year old.

papa norte, Who said last night’s episode of The Mentalist was the best ever? It was good, even if the perpetrator was easy to pick out early on.
