Get Dexter Season 3 on DVD at AmazonTonight, ABC has the 2009 American Music Awards and CBS is swapping timeslots for Three Rivers and Cold Case, so Rivers will now follow Case.

On cable tonight, Animal Planet has the series premiere of The Haunted, Comedy Central has a Bill Engvall: Aged and Confused comedy special, Discovery Channel has a Did the Mob Kill JFK? special and a JFK: The Ruby Connection special, Food Network has the second season finale of The Next Iron Chef, HBO has the seventh season finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm, History has the series premiere of Cowboys & Outlaws, Science has a Vampires From the Abyss special, Style has the first season finale of Dallas Divas & Daughters, and TV One has the second season finale of Unsung.

Prime Picks

The Simpsons (FOX): New. When Bart finds out that there was a better prankster before him at the school, he sets out to find him. Runs 30 minutes.

Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO): Season Finale. The whole Seinfeld gang is together as the filming of the reunion show isn’t going as swimmingly as they had hoped. Runs 60 minutes. Plays twice.

Californication (Showtime): New. Hank’s doings come out. Charlie is trying to keep Marcy away from Rick Springfield. Runs 30 minutes. Plays twice.

Solid Selections

The Amazing Race (CBS): New. One team breaks a promise and a team falls behind because of a stolen taxi.

Dexter (Showtime): New. It is Thanksgiving. Dexter gets closer to Trinity. Debra continues to investigate the Trinity murders. Plays again later. Last week’s episode replays right before.

Three Rivers (CBS): New. A billionaire buys a liver on the black market for his wife after a setback. A friend from Andy’s past visits. The show has been moved to an hour later.

Other Options

  • Cold Case (CBS): New. The team gets new direction on and old case Finn worked back in 1983 about a teenager that was killed while waiting for justice for his murdered girlfriend. The show has been moved to an hour earlier.
  • The Next Iron Chef (Food Network): Season Finale. The final two chefs compete in a battle to win the job. Plays again later. The previous seven episode replay leading up to this episode.

Sports Notes

  • ABC has NASCAR racing with the Sprint Cup: Ford 400.
  • CBS has NFL action.
  • ESPN has the MLS Cup ’09 with the Los Angeles Galaxy vs. Real Salt Lake from Quest Field here in Seattle.
  • ESPN2 has a couple of college basketball games.
  • FOX has NFL action.
  • NBA TV has the Detroit Pistons at the Phoenix Suns.
