Prime Picks

90210 (The CW): New. Navid has no clue who pushed him down the stairs. Silver and Teddy continue to get closer. Annie sneaks out with Jasper.

Scrubs (ABC): Season Premiere. The series returns with two episodes tonight, but it is now set at a medical school with a hospital attached. J.D., Turk, Dr. Kelso, and Dr. Cox are now teaching a group of first year medical students. The first episode did a good job of setting up the new premise, but didn’t do a very good job of making me laugh. The good news is that the second episode was better in the laugh department, but it wasn’t great. Maybe after a few episodes they will figure out where to get the comedy from with the new cast. I will continue to watch, but so far these two episodes just make me wish that last season’s finale had been the finale finale, as it was a great way to end. I’m usually for getting as much of a show that I like that I can, but so far this isn’t it.

Sons of Anarchy (FX) Season Finale. SAMCRO sets out to once and for all rid Charming of Zobelle and The League. Familiar faces present new challenges. Runs 91 minutes. Plays twice. Looking forward to seeing how the season wraps up and what gets setup for next season, which hasn’t been officially announced. But, there’s no way this isn’t coming back for another season.

Solid Selections

Presidential Address (ABC, CBS, FOX & NBC): I put this here for two reasons. 1. Here on the West Coast the speech will have been over for two hours by the time primetime starts. 2. This seems like the 50th time the president has addressed us on national TV. It’s not, but it seem that way.

Melrose Place (The CW): New. Amanda has moved into Sydney’s old place. David and Lauren continue to get closer. Ella gets Jonah a job. Amanda and Michael meet again.

the forgotten (ABC): New. DNA shows that a body found in a car four months ago was an ex-con that had died many years earlier.

Other Options

  • The Best Think I Ever Ate (Food Network): Season Premiere. Food Network personalities talk about the best holiday foods they have ever eaten. Plays again later.
  • Dirty Jobs (Discovery Channel): New. Mike goes to work on a reindeer farm. Plays again later. Last week’s episode replays right before.

  • ESPN has doubleheader college basketball action.
  • ESPN2 has doubleheader college basketball action.

Late Night

  • nip/tuck (FX): Repeat. Last Wednesday’s episode, “Alexis Stone II,” replays.
