News & Notes
On cable tonight, Hallmark Channel has the TV movie premiere of The Wishing Well and Planet Green has a Big River Man special.
Prime Picks
Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives (Food Network): Repeats. The first of six episodes has Guy visiting family owned places, including a Greek place here in Seattle. The second episode has Guy checking out diners all over New Jersey. Four more episodes follow. All six episodes play again later.
Demons (BBC America): New. Luke is asked for help in dealing with a demon after Ruby’s younger bothers is taken. Plays again later. Last week’s premiere episode was not that good, but interested me enough to check out tonight’s episode to see if their is any improvement in this Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Torchwood type show. But, then I read that it only lasted one six-episode season and that left me even less interested, even if it is the only thing new on tonight.
Castle (ABC): Repeat. Castle and Beckett are looking a prominent family in association to the murder of a bike messenger in “Kill the Messenger” from earlier this season. Season two resumes with new episodes this Monday, January 11th.

I agree–the first episode of Demons was bad–not sure if I even want to try tonight’s episode. The costumes/effects looked very fake, making it less believable and taking you out of the story.
I’m impressed with your progress on Buffy–I had plans to rewatch the entire Buffy and Angel a while back, but I seem to have gotten stalled after season 1 of Buffy–need to start back up.
Kyle, Yeah, finished season two of Buffy last night. First four episodes of season three arrive today. You should catch-up with it. While I’m watching it now, I keep trying to think of why I never watched it then. Going to see how far I can get before there is too much new TV back on to keep up with both.
Didn’t realize it had been almost a year since I watched Buffy Season 1 (had bought the UK box set Christmas 2008 since that contained the WS versions of seasons 4-7). About 1/3 through season 2–forgot how great this show is–some great episodes like Study Hard and Halloween. Angel looks so young (so used to seeing D.B. on Bones). One annoyance, since these were released in the early days of TV on DVD there is no “Play All” option.
