Over on cable, MTV has the fifth season premiere of Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew and VH1 has a VH1 Storytellers: John Mayer special.

In late night, MTV has the second season premiere of Take the Stage.

Next week, Comedy Central has new seasons of Important Things With Demetri Martin and The Sarah Silverman Program premiering.

Bones (FOX): New. Booth and Brennan investigate when a skeleton is found in a ditch at a Civil War battleground. Booth’s brother is back from his trip.

Supernatural (The CW): New. Teen creates a spell and ends up swapping bodies with Sam.

The Mentalist (CBS): Repeat. In “Black Gold and Red Blood” from earlier this season, Jane helps solve a case from jail after being arrested.

  • Ace of Cakes (Food Network): New. Duff helps a firefighter create a fun way to propose and also designs a dessert buffet for a company celebrating Christmas in July. A repeat episode follows. Both play again later.

  • ESPN has college basketball action followed by Winter X Games coverage.
  • ESPN2 has tripleheader college basketball action.
