Prime Pick

Super Bowl XLIV (CBS): Indianapolis Colts vs. New Orleans Saints. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:25 p.m. ET. The Who is scheduled to perform at halftime. Will you be watching for the game, the commercials, or both? Who are you rooting for? Who do you think will win? Or, do you wish that there were some actual new TV episodes to watch? The series premiere of Undercover Boss will follow the broadcast.

Solid Selections

Modern Family (ABC): Repeat. The “En Garde” episode replays, which is probably my third favorite episode of this show so far. The whole family is trying to support Manny in fencing competition.
The Middle (ABC): Repeat. The “Siblings” episode replays.

Modern Family (ABC): Repeat. The “Undeck the Halls” episode replays, where Phil and Claire are threatening to put an end to Christmas unless someone confesses to burning the couch.
Cougar Town (ABC): Repeat. The “Two Gunslingers” episode replays, where Jules invites Ellie and Laurie to go with her on a road trip to celebrate her birthday.

Modern Family (ABC): Repeat. The “Fizbo” episode replays, which is my second favorite episode of this show so far. Phil and Claire go all out for Luke’s birthday, which leads to a hilarious chain of events.
Modern Family (ABC): Repeat. The “Up All Night” episode replays, where Manny’s father comes for a visit and Gloria doesn’t like how Jay reacts to it.

Other Option

  • Being Erica (SOAPnet): Repeat. Last Wednesday’s episode, “Mamma Mia,” replays. The previous episode, “Battle Royale” replays right after.

Sports Notes

I used to record the Super Bowl and scan through for the commercials. Last year I recorded for the 3-D halftime stuff and Chuck. This year I’ll just wait for people to post about the good commercials and watch them online. I have plenty of other stuff to watch on the DVR and DVD.

Kyle, I always watch the Super Bowl and hope for a good game and good commercials. I’m actually shockingly almost completely caught up on all the shows I watch, except for a big backlog of Legend of the Seeker episodes.
