Get Friday Night Lights Season 3 on DVD at AmazonTonight, ABC has the third season premiere of Primetime: What Would You Do?, NBC has the fourth season premiere of Friday Night Lights, and PBS has the series premiere of Need to Know.

In late night, Comedy Central has the 14th season finale of Comedy Central Presents.

Prime Picks

Friday Night Lights (NBC): Season Premiere. Coach Taylor is trying to get his new team at East Dillon High School to pull together. Tami is getting used to the new atmosphere at West Dillon High School. A college lecture inspires Tim. It’s been too long since we without Direct TV have been able to visit Dillon, TX, so it’s great to finally have season four starting for the rest of us.

Stargate Universe (Syfy): New. A drive module on the ship goes out and the Destiny crew seeks answers to a possible fix from a brilliant scientist back on Earth. Plays again later. Last week’s episode, “Lost,” replays right before.

Party Down (Starz): New. The latest catering gig is turning out not to be the best place for Ron, but Roman tries to help the host create just the right atmosphere. Runs 30 minutes.

Solid Selections

Smallville (The CW): New. Clark’s mom returns to town and is dating Perry White. Chloe is trying to help Clark find the way to stop Zod and his followers. Next week is the season finale on May 14th.

Medium (CBS): New. Ariel is distressed and begins losing time and must look to her future self to figure out how to get back to the present. The season finale is in two weeks on May 21st, as is the Ghost Whisperer season finale.

Merlin (Syfy): New. Merlin goes into hiding after being accused of stealing. Plays again later.

Sports Notes

  • ESPN has doubleheader second round NBA Playoffs action with Game 3 of the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Boston Celtics followed by Game 3 of the Phoenix Suns at the San Antonio Spurs.
  • ESPN2 has NASCAR racing action with the Nationwide Series: Royal Purple 200.
  • Golf Channel has second round coverage of the Players Championsip.
  • Versus has NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs action.

Late Night

  • Justified (FX): Repeat. This past Tuesday’s episode, “Blowback,” replays.
