For me, things pick back up again on Thursdays, as I’m looking at 10 hours of TV on the night, but with watching via DVR or On Demand we’re less than eight.
On the new TV front, ABC’s My Generation is interesting because of moving the faux documentary into the drama field, as we’ve mostly seen it used in comedies, but it’s just not that compelling. It’s well done from the storytelling style, but not so much from the actual story. It’s been so long since I’ve watched it that I can’t remember all the reasons I didn’t like it. May need to watch it again. CBS’ $#*! My Dad Says is just not good. While they fixed some things from the original “Pilot” that were truly terrible, the only thing they really succeeded in doing is making it almost good. The CW’s Nikita is on my favorite new fall series list. NBC’s Outsourced might just be the worst of what is a very weak class of new half hour comedies this fall. It’s not funny and probably the biggest missed opportunity this fall. I mean, what a timely topic to explore, but instead much of the attempted comedy is based on U.S. and Indian stereotypes and novelty products. Nothing about the first episode leads me to believe that it will ever be anything more than that.

Key Explanation: The grid above is marked for shows I will watch live (Watch Live), record on my dual-tuner DVR (DVR), record on my computer with my dual-tunersetup (DVR2), watch via cable on demand (On Demand), record a replay on my DVR, (DVR Replay), and shows that I don’t know enough about and are yet to be determined whether I will want to watch them (TBD). Things get viewed based on how they are available to me. Since most CBS, NBC and cable shows are available On Demand the following day via my cable carrier that can affect when they get watched as opposed to other shows that aren’t.
