Prime Picks

House (FOX): New. A young skateboarder falls ill. Cuddy and House try to figure out how to handle things at work now that they are seeing each other. Runs 63 minutes. Three things make this an outstanding episode. The case of the week is very compelling, especially how it resolves. Watching Cuddy and House trying to figure out their working and romantic relationship and how to combine them. And, it has one of the funniest scenes on the show in awhile.

Lone Star (FOX): New. Bob is trying to lessen suspicions. Lindsay begins to question how well she knows Bob. Cat’s brother gets into trouble. Starts three minutes after the hour and runs 57 minutes. Last week’s premiere ratings were very low and without a big improvement tonight, it might not be around much longer. Were you one of the few who watched? Will you be watching tonight?

Castle (ABC): New. After a supposed psychic gets murder, Beckett and Castle investigate the case. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 59 minutes.

Solid Selections

I watched lonestar – thought it was just ok. The characters were interesting, though I am not sure how much play they will get out of the conflicts/the absurdity of situations that would be required for them to progress. Hawaii 5-0 was really good, but the pilot looked like it was expensive to make. I hope there is enough in the budget to maintain it long term.

p.s. The Event was really good too, the last minute guaranteed me watching at least two more episodes. The chase on the other hand was trying to do too much in a single episode, it gave me whiplash. Not to mention the horrible HORRIBLE fake southern accents.

Seth, What did you think of The Event after watching the second episode?

I liked it! It could be the next Persons Unknown or it could be the next 4400, who can tell? I dig the slight Sci-fi angle and the actors and writing seem good. I am waiting to watch the third episode which the trailers promised: “The last minute will get you to watch all season” so we’ll see.
