Over on cable, A&E has the first season finale of The Glades, Animal Planet has the fall season premiere of The Haunted, BBC America has the series premiere of Law & Order: UK, Food Network has the 90-minute third season premiere of The Next Iron Chef, HGTV has a Holmes Inspection special, History has the fourth season finale of Ice Road Truckers and the series premiere of IRT Deadliest Roads, Lifetime Movie Network has the TV movie premiere of Lies in Plain Sight, TLC has the second season finale of Hoarding: Buried Alive, and TV Guide Channel has a 25 Most Shocking Reality TV Moments.

The Simpsons (FOX): New. Everyone gets a little cash from Grampa’s life savings. Lisa is worried that Nelson might not continue to pursue his education after his business shows some success. Runs 30 minutes.

Dexter (Showtime): New. Dexter is trying to focus on the kids and keep his urges in check. Everyone living at the apartment starts to get on Debra’s nerves. Plays again later.

The Glades (A&E): Season Finale. Det. Longworth investigates the case of a murder victim found on a golf course. Plays twice and again later twice. Nine of the previous 12 episodes replay leading up to tonight’s season finale.

Challenge (Food Network): New. Four contestants carve pumpkins. Plays again later.

Desperate Housewives (ABC): New. Lynette doesn’t like how much time her friend Renee is spending with Tom. Susan feels guilty about her side job. Runs 61 minutes.

Brothers & Sisters (ABC): New. The family attends a party for Luc’s ad campaign. Nora gets a job offer. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 59 minutes.

  • Boardwalk Empire (HBO): New. Jimmy’s future could be in trouble because of a witness to the massacre in the woods. Margaret gets a new job. Plays again later.
  • CSI: Miami (CBS): Season Premiere. One of their own dies at the hands of a psychotic killer terrorizing Miami.
  • Law & Order: UK (BBC America): Series Premiere. An investigation is launched when a body is found after a hospital was evacuated. Plays again later. The show is in its third season and the first two seasons totaling 13 episodes will play starting tonight and then play on Friday nights starting Oct. 8th. Looking forward to finally seeing what the British version is like. How about you?
  • Man Men (AMC): New. Employees at the firm rely on gossip after a big meeting is called. Plays twice and again later.
  • The Next Iron Chef (Food Network): Season Premiere. The 10 contestants have to build a sandwich that shows off their personality. They also get to cook with one ingredient of their choosing and the secret ingredient of bread. Runs 90 minutes. Plays twice.
