News & Notes
Tonight, NBC has a Decision Points: A Conversation With George W. Bush news special.
Over on cable, Nat Geo Wild has the series premiere of Strike Force,
In late night, TBS has the series premieres of Conan.
Prime Picks
House (FOX): New. Amber Tamblyn (Joan of Arcadia) joins the cast as a brilliant medical student with a moral code that conflicts with House’s way of doing things. It makes for some entertaining TV. I especially loved Chase and Foreman trying to find out why Taub has such a problem with the new member of the team. Yet, while there are a lot of great lines, providing an above average humor quotient in the episode, the case of the week also pushes the Cuddy/House relationship into interesting territory.
Lie to Me (FOX): New. Lightman heads underground when he believes foul play is involved in the death of six mineworkers.
Castle (ABC): New. Beckett and Castle find out about the abduction of a young boy while investigating the murder of a subway worker in Central Park. Starts a minute after the hour and runs 59 minutes.
Solid Selections
How I Met Your Mother (CBS): New. The gang all head to a fundraiser at the Natural History Museum.
Rules of Engagement (CBS): New. Audrey and Jeff finally choose their surrogate. Russell’s mom comes for a visit.
The Event (NBC): New. Sterling is becoming suspicious of those around him. Sophia is preparing her people for the next part of their mission.
Hawaii Five-0 (CBS): New. Danny’s former partner is found dead at a luau and the Five-0 investigation leads to some dirty cops and a cocaine cartel.
Other Options
- The Best Thing I Ever Ate (Food Network): New. Food Network personalities talk about the best thing they’ve ever eaten “With Chopsticks.” A repeat episode follows. Both play again later.
- The Big C (Showtime): New. Cathy is looking into some nontraditional treatments for her cancer with Dr. Todd. Plays again later.
- Gossip Girl (The CW): New. Blair and Chuck have buried the hatchet, among other things. Nate and Dan both figure out they still have a thing for Serena.
- Mike & Molly (CBS): New. Mikes snoring is getting in the way of things. Starts a minute after the half hour and runs 29 minutes.
- Two and a Half Men (CBS): New. Alan and Charlie attempt to set their mother up on a date. Runs 31 minutes.
Sports Note
- ESPN has Monday Night Football action with the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Cincinnati Bengals.
Late Night
