Over on cable, Discovery Channel has a Storm Chasers: 2010 Behind the Storm special, G4 has the second season premiere of American Ninja Warrior, ID has the series premiere of Hookers, Planet Green has The Fabulous Beekman Boys holiday special, Syfy has the sixth season finale of Ghost Hunters and the first season finale of Hollywood Treasure, Spike TV has the fourth season premiere of Manswers, and Travel Channel has a Deep Fried Paradise 2: Extra Crispy special.

In canceled show news, ABC has pulled the last few filmed episodes of The Whole Truth from the schedule that they had began playing last week.

If you missed Syfy’s holiday episodes of Eureka and Warehouse 13 last night, they both replay during the day today.

Prime Picks

Human Target (FOX): New. A friend so Ilsa is being held hostage and Chance goes to Baptiste, guest star Lennie James (Jericho), for help.

Modern Family (ABC): New. Luke and Manny are attending their first school dance, so Jay and Phil take them to the mall. Runs 31 minutes.
Cougar Town (ABC): New. Jules is trying to help Bobby get his confidence back. Kirsten doens’t like how close Travis and Laurie are. Starts a minute after the half hour and runs 30 minutes.

Psych (USA): New. Shawn and Gus get sent to the police academy after they don’t follow police procedure on a case. Plays again later. How great was last week’s episode, “Dual Spires?”

The Middle (ABC): New. Frankie’s parents come for a visit and it may mess up her holiday plans.
Better With You (ABC): New. Maddie and Mia are trying to get out of spending Christmas with the family.

Criminal Minds (CBS): New. The BAU is tracking a killer that targets women. Hotch brings in a cadet that may be able to provide help on the case.

The Defenders (CBS): New. Nick and Pete take on the case of a kid that was caught carrying guns that have had their serial numbers filed off.

Other Options

  • Deep Fried Paradise 2: Extra Crispy (Travel Channel): New. Profiles some of the best places across the country to find fried foods. Plays again later.
  • MythBusters (Discovery Channel): New. The guys take on a task requested by President Barack Obama. Plays again later. Last week’s episode replays right before.
  • Throwdown With Bobby Flay (Food Network): New. Bobby competes in a “Whoopie Pies” competition. A repeat episode follows. Both play again later.
  • Hollywood Treasure (Syfy): Season Finale. Two episodes play, “Chasing Rudolph” and “Justice for Dorothy.” Both play again later. A 10 episode marathons plays early today.

Sports Notes

  • ESPN has NBA action with the Denver Nuggets at the Boston Celtics followed by a college basketball game.
  • ESPN2 has doubleheader college basketball action.

Late Night

  • Burn Notice (USA): Repeat. Last Thursday’s episode, “Brotherly Love,” replays.
  • Breaking Bad (AMC): Repeats. The first two episodes of the series replay tonight, as AMC begins replaying the first three seasons with two episodes in late night each Wednesday. So, if you missed it the first time around, here is a chance to catch back up.

Bravo has five episodes of Top Chef.
History has 12 episodes of Ax Men.
Oxygen has 12 episodes of America’s Next Top Model.
