News & Notes

Download The Good Guys Episodes via Amazon Video On DemandTonight, FOX has the first season finale of The Good Guys.

Over on cable, Animal Planet has the first season finale of The Haunted, CMT has the fifth season finale of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team, Discovery Channel has the third season finale of Swamp Loggers, and TeenNick has the Second Annual TeenNick Halo Awards.

Prime Picks

Smallville (The CW): New. Green Arrow gets attacked while attempting to stop a mugging. Carter Hall and Star Girl are helping Clark find Lois after she is abducted.

The Good Guys (FOX): Season Finale. Jack’s partner, who is now the assistant chief of the department, shows up after an informant of Liz’s is found murdered. Due to seriously low ratings this is likely to be the series finale, not just the season finale. No matter how much I’d like to see it come back as a summer only series, which I think is a really good idea? What about you? Will you be disappointed to see it go? Do you think making in a summer series would be a good idea? Let me know in the comments.

Sanctuary (Syfy): New. Will accepts help from Adam Worth on how to get into the hidden city, even after Magnus warns him not to do so. Plays again later.

Solid Selections

The Good Guys (FOX): Repeat. The “Dan on the Run” episode replays, where Dan goes to his old partner, played by Gary Cole, for help.

Supernatural (The CW): New. Dean is trying to get Sam’s soul back from Death. Sam tries to get a protective spell from Balthazar.

The Walking Dead (AMC): Repeat. Last Sunday’s first season finale episode, “TS-19,” replays. Plays again later.

Other Options

  • Law & Order: UK (BBC America): New. The inspectors investigate after a man is attack and his kidney gets removed. Last week’s episode, “Community Service,” replays following. Both play again later.
  • Outrageous Foods (Food Network): New. Seven-pound burritos and two-foot pancakes are just a couple of the food profiled. Plays again later.
  • What Not to Wear (TLC): New. A glee coach gets a pitch perfect new look. Plays again later.

Sports Note

  • ESPN has doubleheader NBA action with the Los Angeles Lakers at the Chicago Bulls followed by the Miami Heat at the Golden State Warriors.

Late Night

  • Eureka (Syfy): Repeat. This past Tuesday’s Christmas episode, “O’ Little Town,” replays. Also replays earlier in the day.
  • Warehouse 13 (Syfy): Repeat. This past Tuesday’s Christmas episode, “Secret Santa,” replays. Also replays earlier in the day.

TV Marathons

Oxygen has six episodes of Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.
TNT is playing The Matrix Trilogy tonight.
USA has nine episodes of House.

What will you be watching or DVRing tonight?

“Good Guys” is really funny and we’ll be disappointed if it doesn’t come back. It would make a great summer series.

“The Good Guys” was my second favorite new show this year. I’m really surprised it had so much trouble catching on. I wonder if it just got buried under the avalanche of mediocre new cop shows. I’d like to see a quick DVD release and new summer season as I think GG could have sleeper potential. If it does come back I hope the network doesn’t “fix” it too much.

Please, please, please tell me I misread the TVAholics note about this being the series finale of The Good Guys!!!!!!!!!!! I really do enjoy this program and would be soooooooo disappointed to see it go so soon. Please find a way to bring it back. Maybe a different time slot, more advertisement, whatever!! Just PLEASE bring it back. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to vent.

I hope this show comes back because it is so funny and loved watching it on Fridays. I love Bradley Whitfield on there he is so hilarious. I hope it comes back in the summer because it’s the best cop show ever. Don’t take it away

Robert, I think The Good Guys wasn’t publicized in the right way. The ads just weren’t compelling and not enough people really watched over the summer, but when it got moved to Fridays for the fall, it got lost amongst all the new stuff and people just didn’t tune in.

Valerie, It is “most likely” the series finale, as the ratings have not been good and FOX advertised the season finale as the “Finale.” Which, I guess could go either way, in that is wasn’t definite in what it was. We’ll have to wait and see.

I also liked Good Guys and would love for it to come back even if only as a Summer show. I will miss it. It was fun and I got to stare at Jenny Wade in at least one scene per week in something sexy.

Hey nothing wrong with that! Anyhow I don’t think its gonna come back though. Too bad. Maybe if its not too expensive i’ll but the dvd set when it comes out.
