Rules of Engagement (CBS): New. Audrey is trying to be funny. Russell takes a holiday gift idea from Adam.

The Closer (TNT): New. The Chief of Police gives Major Crimes what seems to be a small case until a robbery ends in a murder. Then the case takes on much more and ends up being a test for whether Brenda is ready to move up in the department. Plays again later. Last week’s episode, “Old Money,” replays right before.

Men of a Certain Age (TNT): New. Joe is trying to figure out how to practice his golf game more. Owen is trying to figure out how to be the boss. His coworkers are hazing Terry after they find an old commercial of his on the Internet. Plays again later. I have grown to really like these characters and gotten used to the methodical pace of show and now very much enjoy watching them deal with things. The stuff with Terry tonight is really pretty funny.
