Many shows were in repeats, so the schedule looked quite bland.
The remotes were nestled quietly next to the TV gear,
Just waiting for new shows to return in the New Year.

However, it wasn’t really as bad as it sounded,
So I perused the TV schedule and this is what I found ahead.
I hope you like my twist on a classic holiday rhyme
And it helps you find the “Prime” in Primetime.

On Sunday CBS has the 21st Survivor season finale,
But over on TNT is really more up my alley.
Leverage‘s third season comes to a close
And I can’t wait to see how the two hours goes.

Monday arrives with the end of The Sing-Off on NBC
And following that they hope Perfect Couples you’ll see.
FOX has the debut of Million Dollar Money Drop,
But for me this new game show just doesn’t pop.

Once again I will be over on cable watching TNT,
With Men of a Certain Age and The Closer Christmas party.
Also on cable are shows that make you want to munch,
Like Food Network has The Best Thing I Ever Ate “For Brunch.”

Tuesday doesn’t have much in the way of new episode fun,
But thankfully ABC’s Skating With the Stars will finally be done.
FOX encores “A Very Glee Christmas” to break through the haze,
Yet your best bet is a new episode of TBS’ Glory Daze.

Wednesday has lots of new stuff to fill the TV abyss,
Like the 12th Annual A Home for the Holidays on CBS.
NBC begins to burn off Undercovers leaving three more
And TBS has the finale of Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns season four.

Travel Channel takes you on a trip to Pie Paradise,
But for the prime picks tonight I will try to be concise.
FOX has a new Human Target for thee
And USA has the fifth season finale of Psych with “Yin Part 3 in 2D.”

Thursday night’s offerings will leave you to fend for yourself,
As it’s time to pop in a DVD and watch something like Elf.
There is a repeat of that $#*! show with the Shat,
But I’m only mentioning it to rhyme something properly with bat.

Friday is Christmas Eve and TBS’ A Christmas Story marathon begins
And 24 hours later on Christmas night it ends.
NBC will be showing another classic holiday tale,
Where George Bailey finds It’s a Wonderful Life after a suicide fail.

Christmas Saturday has a few things not to let pass,
Like NBC’s encore of “Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas.”
FOX replays TV’s Funniest Holiday Moments tonight
And on BBC America Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol takes flight.

Sports fans have Sunday NFL action and a week that’ll be to their likings,
As it continues Monday night on ESPN with the Bears at the Vikings.
ESPN then has college bowl games the rest of the week
And NFL Network has Thursday and Saturday games for the NFL geek.

Yet the biggest sports gift is for NBA fans on Christmas Day,
As the Bulls, Celtics, Heat, Lakers and more all play.
There’s an early game on ESPN and then ABC has two
Followed by ESPN again that night with a couple more for you.

Now it’s time to look into the future without any speculation.
Winter TV looks good with Greek and Parks & Recreation,
As well as fellow returnees White Collar and V on tap
And new shows The Chicago Code, Lights Out and Off the Map.
You didn’t know it but my friend you’re a poet!
Welll done
Thanks kaliel and Kyle.
Fun to read. You’re good! Of course, I’m prejudiced and should be.
Keep up the good work.
