On cable tonight, BBC America has a Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol special.

In late night, Lifetime has the first season finale of The Fairy Jobmother.

Community (NBC): Repeat. “Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas” replays, which is an instant classic, if there ever was such a thing.
30 Rock (NBC): Repeat. This season’s holiday episode, “Christmas Attack Zone,” replays.

Doctor Who: A Christmas Carol (BBC America): New Special. The Doctor has to save an old miser, so he can save Amy and Rory, who just happened to be trapped on a space liner about to crash. This is the first time that a Doctor Who Christmas special has played concurrently here in the United States. Runs 80 minutes.

  • TV’s Funniest Holiday Moments: A Paley for Media Special (FOX): Repeat. Jane Lynch hosts this compilation of the Top 30 TV holiday moments as selected by the Paley Center for Media. Runs two hours.

Sports Notes

  • ABC has doubleheader NBA action with the Boston Celtics at the Orlando Magic followed by the Miami Heat at the Los Angeles Lakers.
  • EPSN has an NBA game early with Chicago Bulls at the New York Knicks and then later after the doubleheader on ABC, there is another doubleheader here with the Denver Nuggets at the team that shall not be named followed by the Portland Trail Blazers at the Golden State Warriors for a total of five NBA games today.
  • EPSN2 has doubleheader college basketball action.
