Prime Picks

Human Target (FOX): New. Two episodes play tonight. In the first, an old girlfriend of Chance comes to ask for help, but she only leads to problems. In the second, Chance and Ilsa end up working out their differences under less than ideal circumstances. Meanwhile, Ames, Guerrero and Winston attempt to help a private detective, guest star Tony Hale (Arrested Development, Chuck), who comes looking for help from Chance. Overall, this is a very good doubleheader tonight. The first episode is a lot of fun and helps to setup the second episode nicely. The second episode has some good moments, but plays out on some weird dual timeline that somehow by only the magic of television take place over the same amount of time. It makes no sense. Yet, the two hours ends with a moment played brilliantly by Indira Varma.

Dinner: Impossible (Food Network): Repeat. A meal has to be created for an NBA Cares and Cooks event. Plays again later.

Other Option

  • Are We There Yet? (TBS): Season Premiere. The show returns tonight with two episodes and it is no better than the few episodes of season one that I saw, which were not good. Not only is this show not funny, it is put together terribly and the acting is stiff. Nothing works at all. I’m unsure as to who sits through this and how it got a second season at all.
  • Cougar Town (ABC): New. Jules is starting to question things with Grayson. Bobby is off his golf game with Travis’ girlfriend around. Starts a minute after the half hour and runs 30 minutes.
  • Modern Family (ABC): New. Claire is trying to stop a car that speeds in the neighborhood. Jay is trying to teach Manny how to ride a bike. Runs 31 minutes.

Sports Notes

  • ESPN has NBA action with the Los Angeles Laker at the Phoenix Suns.
  • ESPN2 has doubleheader college basketball action.

Late Night

  • Southland (TNT): Repeat. Last night’s third season premiere episode, “Let it Snow,” replays.
