Over on cable, Animal Planet at the fourth winter season finale of I Shouldn’t Be Alive, Syfy has the seventh season premiere of Ghost Hunters and TLC has the third season finale of Toddlers & Tiaras.

Throwdown With Bobby Flay (Food Network): Repeat. Bobby competes in a “Cuban Sandwich” battle. Plays again later.
Throwdown with Bobby Flay (Food Network): New. Bobby competes in a “Grinders” competition in Philadelphia.

Modern Family (ABC): New. Phil and Claire get in a big argument and Jay and Gloria try to help. Runs 31 minutes.
Mr. Sunshine (ABC): New. Ben goes out on a group date with Heather’s sister, Heather and Roman. Starts a minute after the half hour and runs 29 minutes. Can’t wait for Cougar Town to come back.

Justified (FX): New. A bus full of drugs gets hijacked and Raylan is after the murdering suspect. Runs 61 minutes. Plays twice and again later. I liked where this case goes and how it ties in to previous events. Lots of good stuff.

Solid Selections

The Middle (ABC): New. The Hecks are off to New York and everything that can go wrong does.
Better With You (ABC): New. Ben finds out that the owner of his favorite bar is New York Yankee Nick Swisher, whom he once prevented from catching a fly ball.

Criminal Minds (CBS): New. The team is searching for the missing parents of an autistic child. Reed’s connection with the boy may prove helpful.

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior (CBS): New. The team is after someone killing single businessmen in Ohio. I like Criminal Minds, but the first episode of this spinoff was terrible. We’ll see if things get any better.

Other Options

  • Hot in Cleveland (TV Land): New. The ladies are still in LA and Elka is searching for the movie star of her dreams. Plays again later.
  • Restaurant: Impossible (Food Network): New. Robert tries to help a cafe in Florida succeed in the breakfast and lunch market with some new dishes. Plays again later.

Sports Notes

  • ESPN has doubleheader NBA action with the team that shall not be named at the San Antonio Spurs followed by the Los Angeles Clippers at the New Orleans Hornets.
  • ESPN2 has tripleheader college basketball action.

Late Night

  • Being Erica (SOAPnet): New. We head back into Adam’s past for him to try and change a regret that lead him into a life of violence. Plays again tomorrow afternoon and Saturday morning.
